Bob,

This is the original thread I started

If you go through the thread, it will answer your question and show pictures of what I did to mount my unit. There are 4 return ports on the engine to choose from. 1 is occupied by the turbo returne. That leaves 3 to pick from, 1 more on the passenger side and 2 on the drivers side. ;)

I run synthetic oil for one big reason. Yes the oil does average 10 to 15* above the water temp. But when you tow, your oil temp can hit over 245*F. I monitor my oil temp all the time and with a heavy load on a long grade, the temp is going to go up allot. Synthetic is good up to 400*F, the hydraulic line I chose was the only one that was Teflon lined and rated for 400*F. The teflon lining is a good thing as the oil slides back to crank case with minimal effort and I don't have to worry about breakdown of the hose. ;)

That's the thread, thanks. GREAT thread BTW! GREAT pics. I do not weld, but the welder I use will be able to SEE what I am trying to describe.

I forgot to answer your question about the oil pressure shim. There is a removable bolt head next to and on the oil filter housing. This bolt head is the access point to the by-pass pressure regulator in the motor. Under it is a spring and a ball valve. It is set for an internal pressure of 65 psi. I used a very thin washer between the spring and the bolt head to cause the spring pressure to increase. Once you do this, just go light on the throttle untill you are completely warmed up. My idle pressure on a cold morning wi about 70 psi and with light throttle it will drift up to 80 to 82 psi. After about 2 minutes of easy driving getting out of the neiborhood it will start to drop down. By the time I get to the freeway which is 4 miles away, I am at normal idle of 30 psi and 60 psi at cruise speed. ;)

anyone still running a spinner? I had an opportunity to buy one with all the lines and fitting for like 300 and farted around and now the plain unit itself is 300 or the kit offered from spinner is 675.
