Shoot! I had to quit for the day. I'm trying to remove my old VP44 and I got stuck on moving some of the injectors. I have viewed Diesel-Dan's videos but they don't help with this problem because he removed all of the injector lines from the head. I just want to remove 1,2, &4 and leave the others. I've loosened all of the lines at the back of the injector pump and removed 1,2 &4 but I can't get the lines for 3,5& 6 to push away from the back of the pump. I removed the bolts from all of the injector line hold down brackets. I know there are quite a few guys that have R&R'd their VP44's and did not remove all of the lines from the head and were still able to disconnect the lines from the VP44 and push them toward the block to get the pump out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm going to start again in the early a. m. I don't have any desire to remove the injector six line or the the engine lift bracket in front of number 6. Thanks.

It can be done that way, but I remove them all. It's an extra 15 minutes of hassle at the most to pull off the rear set. Re assembly is even faster and I leave off he engine mounting bracket typically. I clean it, and seal it up ion a heavy duty bag for storage under he rear seat or in the glove compartment.

Thanks Dave! If you are a pro such as yourself and have done it as many times as you have, I'm sure that 15 minutes is all that you would need. It will probably take me at least 30 minutes just to pull the engine mounting bracket since it has never been touched. :{
