Awesome Footage!

Hey that's a great video. I really appreciate you posting it. I imagine you'll have plenty of requests to send out a copy to some folks. It took me almost 15 minutes to download it on a networked T-3 connection.

Oh yeah, what about the footage of the powerstroke being pulled out of the mud? It is coming?

Thanks again.

Oh yeah man! My buddy at work is supposed to pull it tonight... I watched the video, and asked him about it. . he said he didn't figure I'd want it   :( !!!!

I almost smacked him the head and said What's wrong with you fool!

evidently he failed to see the beauty in our yankage of that PSD.

yada yada... hopefully he will get it pulled tonight, and I'll have it available in the morning.

Nick - as soon as I get the PSD footage, I'll put them both on cd and FedEx 'em to ya!

BTW, for those that weren't there, but watch the video, here is the list of pullers as they appear in the video:

I also included the distance we pulled as best as I remember it... maybe someone wrote it down and can correct my mistakes.

Gap's Dad (a. k. a. RED)(White) (361 some odd feet)

Gap (White) (301 some odd feet)

Me (Blue) (356 Feet)

Jay (Pewter) (355 Feet)

Meacham (sp?) (White) (Somewhere between 350 - 380? I Dunno)

Nick (White) (Some unholy terrifying distance over 400 Feet. . like 420 or something... I was too busy running for my life when he crossed 400' and he didn't appear to show any signs of slowing down. So I didnt' get to hear the final distance. )

Joey (Red) (I have no idea. . I just can't remember... I was too busy cleaning out my pants from Nick's run and having my life flash before me. )

if u look on the video can u see an orange flame trying to come out of my stacks at about 400-420'? u can see it on my video. freaked me out. guess it's time to do a little bigger exhaust. not use to pulling that far.

All the measures

361 Red

301 Gap --2WD!

356 Andy

355 Jay (stock)

383 Meacham (Joe driving)

421 Nick (1st full-track pull and current record)

381 Joey

Repull: (track conditions much different)

331 Red

317 Meacham

301 was the recorded pull for the PSD, I don't know who he was pulling against.

201 would be his net pull after getting pulled 100 feet out of the mud hole by Red's truck, and add unsportsmanlike conduct#@$%! penalty for locking the brakes and he's down to 150 net pull. :-laf

Now where's that Woodbury boy to go talk that trash to him?:D

#3

It was shortly after this he slammed/locked up his brakes. He got pulled anyway! HEHEHE!

I didn't know Andy had the powerstroke footage too. He's might be a better picture than mine. His front tire got blocked on mine by the light pole but you can see the back tire locked and then you can see the front after it clears the pole. You can see em both locked up but steady sliding! Classic footage.

MIchigan City PUll

NICK,

I'm pretty sure me and Dad are coming to the Michigan City pull. I PM'd you for the directions.

What are the diesel classes and purse?

directions to the pull in michigan city, ms. Follow highway 18 to mississippi. it'll turn into highway 7. follow highway 7 about 5 miles to highway 72. turn left on highway 72 heading towards corinth, ms. you'll drive about 4-5 miles on 72 and you'll see a billboard on your right that says Burton Sugar Farms. that is the driveway / road. It's going to be in Joey's front yard. Should be a pretty decent track. he's been working on it for a couple of months. good sled too. Hill sled company out of trenton, tn. it's a NTPA certified sled. Not sure about all of the classes. going to have a gas burner class with payout and a "street diesel" class. run what you brung. the usual rules. registered and insured. steet legal trucks. no twins. he's going to add money to the diesel class. the way that we pay down here is. pay top three places. take entry fee ($25) x # of trucks. split 50%-1st, 30%-2nd, 20%-3rd. or something close to that. not sure what all is going to be there. they are having an antique tractor pull that starts at 1 or 2pm. we'll start pulling about 7:30 or 8pm. He's also going to let people test and tune after we pull for money. just going to be a lot people having a good time. there will be food and such. the Burton family also cooks sorgum molasses the "old" way. they will be doing that too. never had any of it, but i'm going to try some. my house is right off of hwy 18 on medon-malesus rd. i'm planning on leaving there at 5pm. jay is going to meet me there and i have a few other people going to meet up there. my phone # is 731-616-3956. if you want to meet up with us. Nick

Meeting date?

There's a section for TDR chapters over yonder. We need to RUSH on the deciding Saturday or Sunday so that they can print up some postcards for us. Check out: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=738348#post738348

The MS pull is enticing, but GF is having a surgical thing done tomorrow and I may have to hang around here.

PLEASE SEND copies of the video to me at:

591 Petty Gap Road

Woodbury, TN 37190

I had 9% downloaded and the connection crapped out and I had 3. 5 hours to go--at 128k ISDN.

piston, i have personnally worked on that truck. i thought that i recognized it. can't wait to see ya'll tomorrow. just got back from kentucky. small class up there. only 4 trucks. mine, 1 ton dmax, 6. 0 pstroke, and a 7. 3 ps. 6. 0 came in 2nd. later going to bed. be a long day tomorrow i am sure. nick

i want to thenk all of you that came down to west tn / michigan city, ms personally. sorry that i didn't have more time to talk. this not having a drivers licence and having to have someone else drive me sucks. can't stay place as long as i would like to. we had a great pull. meacham, you have the whole pulling thing figured out. congrats! it was a hell of apull. i have video of it if you'd like to see. wish that you'd have made it. a little bit of a trip for you but man! the ford that pulled good actually twisted the center housing of his rear end up about 4. 5"-5" out of place. i have never seen that in 4 years of pulling. i trashed my front end but should have it fixxed before my covington pull next weekend. piston, your dad's truck is pretty stout. next year it'll be rolling REAL stout i am sure. the sled is set a little heavier down here. sorry about your pull. we were really impressed with your 301' at woodbury though. jamie is still talking about it. actually he won't stop talking about it. there was a little carnage at this one. at least 2 rear ends and my front end. all shows that you have to pay to play. to wade, joe, piston, and meachem we really appreciate ya'll soming down. hope to see you soon. nick wade tell your old man to buy a trans and lets do a little BOMBing!

Whoops, I filed my report on the regional events page.

I don't know the official reports but Nick won it, Meacham (Joe) got third, and Red claims 4th!

Got to see a lot of different iron hook up down there. Sled was HEAVY. Saw more than one truck not move it off the line. ;) :p

Covington huh? That's on the big river ain't it. Nevermind. :D

wade, its about the same distance form jackson to covington. just stay on i40 for a few more exits and then turn on highway 70. I carries my truck to the shop this morning and he's going to let me know what i trashed. didn't mean to let you think that i broke something in kentucky. people ask me and others i am sure if we are going to win. i try not to brag because they do break. ya'll got to witness some of that. it's exciting but also dangerous and can be very expensive. brandon karcher out of somerville, tn came in 2nd at 295' with a mitchell pulling clutch.

Dickson Pull

Just found out the pull got changed to Friday Night the 10th. Antique Tractors start at 7:00. Trucks(Run What Ya Brung) won't start till probably 9:00ish. It's a 50% payback. You ain't gonna make no money, it's just a chance to hook up. I would encourage any of you first timers to come to dickson and hook. It is a lighter sled. I have recently learned all sleds are not created equal. Some are heavy and some are HEAVY!!

Pull is located at the Dickson Fairgrounds. On Hwy 47.

From I-40 West(from Nashville):

Exit 172 turn Right onto Hwy 46N

Hwy 46N turn right onto Hwy 47

(Autozone on right at this Red light)

Hwy 47 about 1/4 - 1/2 mile, Fair Grounds on your left.

Fair Grounds take third entrance on your left.

Third entrance is hard to see. Right past "The Cove" old run down bar/dance club.

Anymore directions ya'll let me know.

Me, dad, and local buddy with 96 two wheel drive #6 plate are all pulling. Ya'll come hook. We always make the gassers look bad! They have in the past ran two classes. Singel Rear wheel, Dual Rear wheel. If they have enough they split 2x4 and 4x4. It is usually just Rear Wheel classes, so the 2x4 are pulling against the 4x4's. It really is funny seeing a 2x4 diesel out pull a 4x4 gasser!

We'll have the #0 plate in on dads too. It outta smoke good!
