Hey, I noticed that one of the turbine housings that Mark posted has one of those Banks "Big Head" actuator thingys on it... what the heck does that thing do?

Its actually not a "Banks" but it is a wastegate actuator. Works the same way cruise control does. Pluncher that pulls wastegate lever arm open depending upon pressure. "Banks" wastegate actuator actualy says BIG HEAD on the end of it. About twice the size of the one shown. I pulled on off a truck that was having performance issues. He's troubles dissappeared.

For what it's worth. I pulled the Banks, High Ram Intake off his truck too to further alleviate his performance pains..... Replaced it with stock Air Horn... .

Looks like it is going to be a mud bog at the pull in Dickson. The track itself will be good. It is ellivated somewhat and will shed water well. The track has been arround awhile and is very packed! But the parking and on-lookers areas will be a mess. They do have blenchers, that'll help.

I just hope ya'll don't mind driving, if ya'll do, cause it is going to be late I am sure before we'll pull. Probably won't pull till 10:00. I was told tractors start at 7:00 and it'll take 3 hrs before they get done, depending on turnout. It is the last pull of there season, so I would expect a good turnout. :(

Hello There! I just caught Wade's post in the 24V engine & trans forum. I hardly ever get over there since I have a "properly valved" model. I haven't been able to do anything to my truck yet, not enough funds. I'm saving up for a new transmission first. Just thought I'd let you all know I was here.

Howdy BigPapa, glad you found us. Stay away from the pulls or you'll be hunting a 4x4 to play with. :D And yep, it'll have ONLY 12 valves.

Then I'll be in both clans. ;)

gap, how did it go at tha dickson pull? i spent the evening drinking ice cold bud lite's and talking **** with friends. was it a good thing dad was gone? look forward to seeing ya'll tomorrow. holla at me tomorrow. going to put a fuel guage in my tow truck. don't want the transfer pump going out on that crappy 24 valve again. just can't stay stock and the checkbook can only stand to repair one of those goats. lol! see ya'll soon, nick

Dickson Pull

Well, we did alright. Track muddy, but bit pretty good. They pulled 2 wheel drive single wheel in seperate class, I won that outta 3 trucks, 96 Cummins #6 plate and Powerstroke w/ chip(?). I think I won the alnight fastest wheel speed award too! Pulled 2nd gear, smoked em all the way down the track. Gotta get some mudders.

4x4 single wheel, had 12 trucks. 9 Fords (all diesel) 2 Chevy gassers, and 1 Dodge(Dad). Pull off with daddy and 3 Fords(one girl driven). We got last... :( Them fords there were hot! They were rev'n strong. 10 year local ford dealer mechanic opened his own shop. He is the ford diesel tweaker in town. He can make em run. My brother(he drove) got beat by a girl anyway! It wasn't bad. It was within 7 ft with all 4 trucks. I was impressed with the fords. Never saw any of them pull there before. We'll see next year.

I think pops truck is sick. Ain't fueling like it should. I think the pump has gotten lazy on it. We changed from a #4 plate full forward to a #0 full forward and added 4 inch downpipe with no change in smoke. It is a little quicker on the street and smokes a little more, but doesn't make anymore with the sled? We were dissappointed. Turbo is going in the "Wind tunnel" to be pinned, finned and housed. Pump is getting tweaked as well, punched, plumbed, calibrated and set for 4k RPM.

Anywho... Had fun, got beat by some furds, but it was nice loosing to that chick! All ya'll would have too if ya had seen it! She made a Furd look good, and that is hard to do!

gap, are ya'll still coming to covington tonite? been trying to get ready all day. hopefully all will go well tonite. you ought to check the transfer pump and the banjo bolt on the pump. joey is checking all of that on his today and try to get ready for tonite. his started to defuel at woodbury and really bad at mississippi. hopefully everyone will be able to have a good pull tonite. hope to see ya'll there. nick

Not coming Nick, got to get these fuel issues addressed. We'll hook up with ya. We are trying to find somebody with a sled we can do some test and tuning with. Gonna being doing alot of work over the winter and need to test it out. Know anybody that would let a few of us tune for a little bit?

Welcome Big Poppa! Nice to have someone in my neck uh tha woods for a change. . ;)

I live just over I-24 in Pleasant View... Spend a perty good ammount of time in Springifeld now with new Wally-World and Lowes.

Hey, we're starting a Mid-Tenn TDR chapter. We're all meeting in Murfreesboro next Sunday afternoon. If you're interested in going, maybe we could meet at the interstate in PV and caravan up?

Gap, I take it you got that cupped tire straightened out for good with that last pull? :D :D

side note- watching the Vols while typing. . turnover on the goaline, and uga ran it 94 yds for a td... . this blows. :{

Gap make sure to install Heavy Duty Valve Springs for the 4K RPM range. You don't wanna float a valve in that thing!

What time's the meeting next Sunday? My girl from Ohio is coming down for the weekend, but I gotta take her back Sunday evening. She's into the truck thing BIG TIME (pefrect match for me!;) ) and she loves my new stacks!Oo.

Anyways she'd love to come to the meeting I know, but M'burro is an hr away from me hot dog'n it!:(

Sounds like a good time at Dickson, sorry you had no chapter support to spur you on. My father-in-law (a hybrid cross between George Bush and Ernest T. Bass) shows up at 5:30 to take us to dinner for my son's B-day... didn't get home till around 10:00. See ya'll on the 19th, Paul. Gotta get internet at home.

Okay, who got video of the girl in the Ford? Nothing like a good looking chick in a big truck. I am trying to talk my wife into getting a 1998 12V 2500 CTD QC 4X4. She loves my truck but can't drive a stick shift.

Got a chance to work on my truck this past week. Got rid of that pesky silencer ring. Put on a new steering stabilizer. I can actually keep it in one lane without too much effort!!! Still need to address the track bar. I got my NAPA BHAF and a set of Bilstein shocks to put on this week.

Gap, looking at the Outerwears pre-filter. You still liking yours?

Jay how did you remove the OEM stablizer? We unbolted mine and hammer and hammered on the stud but it wouldn't budge. Had a fellow TDR member say he had to use a pickle fork to get his out:rolleyes: I've got a brand new Skyjacker stablizer just sit'n in my basement because we couldn't get mine off!

OH YEAH and death wobble hit me again on the way to Ohio this past Friday! #@$%!

Some guys that were running in a truck beside me stopped to see if I was ok and they said that the wheels were going back and forth side to side instead of up and down so I'm thinking that the stabilzer might cure it? That and Nick said my track bar is loose, that should be under warrenty @ Advance!Oo.
