STACKED AGAIN!

Saw Meacham today! He loves 'em! :-laf

Anyways got my 5" turnouts on Saturday! I love it!Oo.

I used elbows this time but we made the cross pipe and 3" to 4" adapter. It sounds A LOT louder this time, I think cause I used 90* elbows where last time all my elbows were 45* cut-n-welded pipe:rolleyes: Anyways on with the pics!

p. s. YES in the front angle the left stack is exactly 1" taller than the right stack, but I'm get'n ready to take about 4" out anyways :-laf

Steering Stabilizer

Hey Mark,

The stacks look great. Can't wait to see them up close. Maybe in a couple of years I will be brave enough to put a set on my truck.

The steering stabilizer on my truck was easy. I am not sure if the design was different in '97 vs. '99. My stabilizer has an eyelet mount on both ends. Took the two bolts out and the stabilizer dropped to the ground. Slid in the new one and torqued the bolts down. It took me longer to find the right size wrenches than to change out the stabilizer. Let me know if I can give you a hand with it.

hello to all the middle tn guys. wanted to let you know how covington went. 1st go around, robert thornton ( had the white '02 chevy at somerville) pulled 296', joey in the red '96 pulled 292'. i full pulled and the red '98 owned by brandon karcher also full pulled. in the pull off i broke the front end getting it locked in for the pull off. d*mnint! oh well! the price that you pay for a new locker that you aren't use to yet! :)! anyway, i pulled 276' and brandon pulled 294'. his truck was flying down the track! i was really impressed. anyway, got some stuff for sell in the classified's. wade my trans is for sell if you want it for your dad's truck. has less than 200 miles on it with 33 months of warranty left. unlimited mileage. Gap, did ya'll figure out what is wrong with dad's truck? Mark, the stacks look GREAT! going to redo mine this winter. got some upgrades planned before next spring! can't wait for the first pull of the year! going to have one in the first 2 weeks of april in michigan city, ms again. hope to see all of you there! later, nick

Nick you selling your EEP transmission?

mark, yeah, going to get rid of the 4spd auto. it is great, but i have to have a 6spd in the "goat"! going to get it and "the clutch"! i can't wait. it is the best trans that i have ever had in my truck so far, but it is time to move up. to compete up north and starting to be the same around here you are going to have to have a light motor and a bad*ss auto or a manual with the a bad*ss clutch. if i was driving it everyday, i'd have the sc auto. i am kinda lazy and don't like shifting gears. but for what i use my white truck for, it's just time. i'll be seeing dave and lorretta in feb or march. hope that you'll make it in april to ms. eep said that they were coming. going to email kent (w/schied's) and try to get him to come also. we'll have a great time.

Meachum,

wish that you had beeen able to make it to ms. i heard that joe and company had a great time. everyone down here was really impressed with the mid. tn bunch that took third. you'll have to come back next year. hopefully will get a few more hp under the hood. your truck is very impressive! pm me and i'll get you a vhs of your trucks pull. need to figure out why it won't spin out and is trying to choke. maybe let it down shift. we'll get it ready for next year though. you should try to make it to terra haute in the end of august for schied's diesel extravaganza. it is a weekend full of fun and diesel smoke. THAT APPLIES TO EVERYONE! It's a great weekend. i'll be there next year and hope to see everyone soon. NICK

Alrighty then. I wasn't at home on that last post.

Now don't be bidding against me on the transmission and I might wind up with a puller sooner than expected. OH CRAP, and I have to learn how to tweak them undervalved things.

Lemme see now, 370's, GSK, and pull the plate out--'bout right?:D

Cool stacks Mark, now don't cut 'em too short--but do try to get 'em even. :p

Congrats on the full pull Nick, pesky front end again eh?

Fords ruled at Dickson, glad I missed that. Now let's don't let that happen again!;)

AndyMan, I'm not going to be able to make it Sunday. My Sundays are pretty tied up between church and family. If it was closer or about an hour later I could probably swing it. Maybe next time. I definetly want to be involved in a mid-tenn chapter though.

Nick, did you find out if that transmission will work in a 2wd? Also, was that 200 miles put on 300' at a time?:D

wade, you were pretty close on the undervalve power. just a few other things. i let you know.

big papa, well you know, 250' here, 420' there, 300' here. takes a long time to put miles on them that way! :) It's the best trans that i have ever put in a truck though. have sold several people on them. It won't fit in a 2wd. you would have to take the guts out and put them in the 2wd housing. if you'd like info on what one would cost, call enterprise engine performance at 1-800-783-4929. talk to doug. that's where i got mine. warranty probably wouldn't go with the taking it apart. great trans though. tc has a drain plug on it. mag hytec pan with trans temp ready port and magnetic drain plug. good luck with the meeting on sunday. side note. hooters may not be the best place to try to hang out on a sunday after noon with the nfl sunday ticket going on. mite be a little bit noisey. lol! hope that ya'll have a great meeting. nick

Overflow valve was the culprit. Was dumping to early. Replaced it with a 40 psi valve. Truck would only pull to about 2800 rpm before. It'll now pull to about 3300 rpm. Probably gonna get shimmed up this week to 50 psi. If 40 is good, 50's better, right? We also added 4 inch downpipe, so we are 4" turbo through stacks. Dad is already wanting to do 5" turbo back after we get our hybrid turbo in place... He just don't stop!

Got the pump off and it is at Jackson Diesel this week as is the turbo for some tuning, tweaking, customizing. Pump guys at Jackson Diesel said they can make the pump spray raw fuel out the stacks in the bed if we won't too! They used to pull 1500 Hp "Smoker Tractors". They said, "Don't worry about the fuel, you'll have plenty". Adding heavy valve springs and 4 GSK as well. Traction bars will be here next week. Can't wait till spring!

Talked with local stock car track owner. Personnel friend of my dads. Clayhill, in Atwood TN. He said if we can get enough trucks to show he'd pull monthly if we like. He is clearing the pits next year and we could put a track in the pits area. We are looking into it. Try'n to get together just a "Truck Pull". Feeling for support here!

Like the stacks Mark. I think they look sweet all crooked and all. Just tell everybody your Pimp'n, your riding with a Limp! :D

 :-laf Here's a pic from today in front of the house.

We trimmed 'em last night. They are 52 & 3/4" from bed floor to tip. Cause of the angle of the truck and the camera they look uneven still but they are... NOW:-laf

News from the East

So Dad is going to have a real pullin' transmission soon. Thanks Nick.

And I went out to Barry's (Ivy Bluff) and guess what-------------He's got a SLED!!!Oo.

And they've been racing cars around that field. :p

So when they get it up and going, we'll have a very inexpensive place to practice sled draggin'.

wade, i wish i had 4 or 5 of these trans for sale. lucky that you called me at noon or i could have sold it 3 other times! your dad will be pleased with this trans. talked to doug at eep today. he said that this is the tc that you need. said that you should love it! ya'll got a personnal test and tune sled. ?!? hmmmmmmmmm i'll have to talk to jim hill. we can't be having no advantage up there in mid tN. j/j! wade i should have it out in the next couple of weekends. got to help jamie ( my driver) out with a haunted hollow. you know a give and take thing. he drives me, and helps me work on the goat. i got to help him out a couple of times a year. i let you know soon though. gonna try to get it out this weekend. nick
