I admit... I'm thinking of going to the dark side. . you know... . something with over 12 valves..... I am thinking of swaping my truck for an 04, four door automatic, 4wd with 110K miles.



The only reason is three kids and a wife that hates my five speed. It may be time to get something with more room and that the wife can drive.



My truck and the one i'm lookin at are very clean.



What should I be able to get for my truck... with mods.



I think I might be able to do it for 10-11K difference... .



Any opinions? Anyone hear of any problems with the 04's?
 
Your not alone, i have been looking into the dark side too. It's hard to get away from the old reliable 12V. My wife want's a not so noisy diesel, :-laf

I like to offend half the campground when i pull in after dark pulling 11k, sound like a UPS truck on steroids :eek: Have you asked this question over in the 3rd gen section?
 
are you going to trade your truck or sell it outright? What are you looking to get out of it? My dad is looking for a reg cab long box.
 
Im' not sure... . It is pretty clean maybe 9,500?



Whats it worth? I just seen a 97 12V extended cab, auto, 4WD, below average condition bring 12,000 around here.
 
I wouldn't go with a 04 I would get the 03 305 I think it's more friendly upgradable the 325 doesn't seem to do as good.

Sounds like a good reason to stick with the 12v. :-laf



The 04 was also the 305/555 with some of the 03 kinks worked out. The 04. 5 was the 325.



However, from what I've read here abouts by 05 they had the 325 kinks worked out.
