building question

Crook in Tennessee

Today went out and bought some suitcase type tractor 100# weights.

They are off of a "WHITE" brand tractor.

I got them for $45 each, was this a decent deal?

. 45 cents a pound basically.

I'd say so. Try buying weights for an old John Deere Two-Cylinder vintage. Oh-My-Gosh. You'd think they made them from gold.

Awww, you could have saved your self a ton of money on tractor weights and stopped by the Ford dealership and picked up one of those "replaced" 6. 0's that litter the back lot on pallots behind the service bays. I'm sure the dealer wouldn't mind ... the sight of all those dead engines isn't good for business.

Just think of it, as your driving around moving piles of dirt or whatever and having an old junker 6. 0 hanging off the 3-point hitch weight box. :)

Now be nice FatCat ;)

If you go to the right farm auction, sometimes the suitcase weights are sold seperately, instead of staying on the tractor. Last set I saw sell, the full set and weight bracket went for $50. They came of a IH 1086 tractor.

You pretty much paid scrap price. Still not that bad.
