During some of my more recent travels delivering some GatorMade product, both to some of their retail lots and some to their dealer network, conversations I’ve had with business owners have indicated that there’s still LONNNNNGGGGGGGGG delays in receiving a trailer ordered today.....from a huge amount of various trailer manufacturers. Some of the craziest things within the supply chain have held up orders from lots of trailer manufacturers, anything from simple, basic shackles used on a wide variety of axles, all the way to an intricate nut or bolt required to complete a 12k EOH disc brake option upgrade.

In a nutshell.......I’d highly recommend ordering as soon as you can. With some of the states experiencing hotspots on the increase, it may wind up getting worse in some areas before it gets better.

Just this week, I delivered 9 gooseneck trailers to one dealer in Loudon, TN. They have a great business, and basically have a very diversified inventory in regards to product lineup.

That dealer has a large inventory and some good prices on Gatormade.

Diamond C dealer is telling me 4 months for build times and price increase in '21.

The PJ dealer scheduled to fix my recall said they have had a Dexter 10k torsion axle on order for 6 months!

It was something I saw on YouTube. Had never seen a dump trailer like that before but I love the concept (as long as you're not hauling huge, heavy loads).

I'm sure it's available with all the standard suspensions we've discussed here. ;)

I might have to take a drive and check them out sometime since I live in NE. The last time I unloaded shingles at the dump by hand from my car trailer with 3' sides I swore I was going to get a dump trailer. Guess doing that unloading by hand every 15 years isn't so bad.

I know 2 guys with these. One had twin telescoping cylinders power up/down and it's slow and struggles lifting front-heavy loads. The other has a scissor lift power up gravity down and he says he's yet to stall it.

I really like the concept. If you need a couple yards of mulch, or have debris to take to the dump, there's no need for separate trailers.

They won't compete with you heavy haulers, but they'll likely handle anything g a homeowner can throw at them.

I've been looking but can't find anyone close that builds a similar unit. Nebraska is a wee bit far for me...

For the heck of it I got a quote from DK Trailers on a hybrid dump.

82"x16' car trailer Hybrid
2 5/16" coupler, 7000# jack, LEDs
Wood floor, stake pockets
Set of pull out ramps
2/cylinder lift, DC power unit
Storage for PU on hitch
2/5200# spring axles elec brakes
4/225-75R 15" 10plys 6bolt wheel
$6,800.00

Upgrades:
Steel floor----550.00
HD tread plate fenders ---200.00
Flat strap over stake pockets---100.00
Aluminum wheel pkg----375.00

I would add the HD fenders and flat strap (rub rails). That comes in at $7100. All I need to do is figure out how to get it home to Connecticut...

I guess that's an option. The hard part is they're quoting 16-20 week lead time on the trailer. Kind of hard to set anything up that far in advance.

I suppose a road trip to Nebraska isn't out of the question... ;)

I had great success with U ship. I bought a boat out in Kansas a few years back an needed to get it to Ny. All the boat haulers wanted about $3-$4K. Then one recommend U ship. Filled out the form. Got bids from $750-$1500. Went with a company that could flat bed the trailer an boat. Door to door with insurance just under $900. The more flexible you are time wise the better prices you will get. Everything went smooth. I’d use them again.

Still looking for a trailer... prices and lead times are through the roof! Got an updated quote on a DiamondC 10k 20' deckover. Quoted price last fall: $4800, today's quote: $6200 but will actually be price at time of delivery. Leadtime quoted was late 4th quarter/early first quarter.

Unbelievable!

I was actually looking for their GTF car hauler but it's currently not offered. A new model will be introduced in early summer. The local dealer couldn't tell me anything about it either.

The used market is full of junk at almost new prices. Recently saw a 2002 18' 10k car hauler with wood deck for $4500. That's probably double what it sold for new. And it needed all new lumber.

The search continues...

In 2009 I finished building my own 20’ gooseneck deck over trailer. It has tandem 5200 # axles, double eye spring suspension. Tandem 5200 would be just right (as in enough too much to be comfortable) for your needs. I haven’t a minutes complaint about the walking double spring eye suspension, has never given trouble and doesn’t have much for bounce either.
