grabbing trailer brakes

Since I already have a very capable tow vehicle are there companies that rent travel trailers in the Connecticut or New England area? I am planning a possible camping trip over the summer and don't really want to rent a motorhome. I don't currently go camping enough to justify the expense of buying a travel trailer. I would rather put a little money into the truck.

Thanks in advance for the help. :D :D

Don't know about where you are at but it can be done. A friend of mine with his wifey rented one a couple of weekends ago. We went for the weekend. Was a 26 ft. bumper pull. Picked it up on Thursday and took it back Monday before 1 and it was 350. 00

Long view RV off I-91 in windsor (The exit after Bradley airport going north) Rents RV's. I don't think they rent trailers though.

I think alot of dealers don't like to rent trailers because of the liability

We went through this scenario about a year ago and did exhaustive searches for trailer rentals. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Motorhomes- Yes. Pop up style ten trailers- Yes. Travel trailers- NOPE. Fifth wheels- NOPE. We found a couple of places on the internet, one in Texas, and one in South Carolina. And they were real expensive. Kind of a bum deal, but I 'm sure theu have their reasons. We wanted to rent before we bought because my wife wasn't sure she'd like camping. Fortunately after buying a Fifth wheel..... SHE DOES!!:D Oo.

stg2500,

You might re-think your plan after you hear the expense involved in some rentals. A friend of mine tried to rent a travel trailer for a month. After he heard the cost, he bought a very nice used trailer, used it for a month and sold it when he returned. The final cost to him was about 10% of cost of the rental.
