I recently bought a HX35/40 hybrid turo with a 6 blade/ 60mm wheel impellar off ebay. It came with a 12cm wastegated exhaust housing, and I was wondering how one would go about hooking it up. I have a boost elbow I bought a long time ago if needed, but that is for another day. Do I just run a regular fuel/ heater hose from the actuator to the elbow, or is there something better? I know it needs to be rated for about 50psi. What do I use for clamps? I have no experience with this kinda stuff- I've only had nonWG housings.

Daniel:

At work we use the better "fuel injection" fuel line and the fuel injection type clamps, more like a perfect circle type clamp. This hose will hold at least 80PSI, that is what I was running on my Daytona.

I had thought about running the 18, and may in time. BUT, I am not towing, and I am just curious what it can do to EGT and MPG. BTW- EGT peak is down to about 1050-1100, from 1300+ Oo. Plus, it was easier to install the whole thing than to try to remove the housings from both turbos.

How fun is it to drive the 12cm?

It's a blast, even with the AFC spring tension all the way up. Get up to about 14-1500rpm, and it really takes off and scoots, up to about 3300rpm, where I limit myself. The impellar has no place for a silencer ring, and it sounds like a big rig above about 10psi- you really hear the turbo whine. I bet it'd split your ears under a heavy load.
