ok heres my deal. . im trying to get my hx55 and hy35 turbo setup completed. . i am having a problem with the oil feed lines... especially the hy35 line..... ok when i got the turbos, i recieved no fittings or lines with them, so all i have is the threaded holes in the actual center section castings... the hx55 hole seems to be a #6 o-ring boss fitting , and the hy35 is close to a #4 0-ring boss fitting but when you tighten it up it seems to strip out especially on the end. . so may be its a metric pipe thread?... so where can i get hoses that will fit that have swivels on both ends, metal braided with the nylon insert. ?... thanks

Fittings

Deo, for the HY use a 12mm x 1. 50 to - 6 PN EAR- 991944 from summitand use an o-ring instead of the washer/gasket ,(same fitting as a banjo replacement for the LP and VP) on the 55 it should be the same as a HT3B so use a - 8 to -6 bulkhead fittingand use an o-ring on the side facing the turbo,

( the 55 might be smaller so you might need a -6 to -6) depening on size, just lube the o-rings before you tite'n um or you'll tear um, been using mine for over a year w/ no prob's . hope this helps

cool thats good info . . JR Adkins told me that today too . . now i need to find some where to make the actual lines metal braid with nylon insert... to fit the fittings . got any leads?... i guess i can jsut order up a ton of ittings and hose and make some an lines up they have the nylon/ teflon core and braided out side. . i guess i can drill and tap the filter housing also. can i increase the vol & pressure of the oil system by messing with the relief valve that is mounted in the filter housing plate?... ie stretch out the spring a little for more pressure?. . thanks

Why go to all the trouble of getting nylon insert line? just use -6 braided line w/ an fittings. (look at my gallery pic's) cheaper and easyer. just use the same 12mm x 1. 50 fitting outa the filter housing and "T" it or "Y" it to each turbo. i take it that this on the truck? whats the OP now?

You do not need to drill and tap any holes for more oil feed, you have 65 psi of oil pressure at that hole and that is more than ample, even if you did the hole going into the turbo fitting is just as small so you wouldn't gain anything. Unless your turbo's are different than the two set's I have run a #6 flair to 6AN works on both the little turbo fitting(supplied by holset) as well as the stock fitting on the oil supply, the 55 might need something different but I used a #6 Male AN to a 5/8th-18 for the B/B and a 1/8th pipe to a 6AN for the other supply at the filter housing. Both my setup were like this using 6AN line for supply as 6AN stuff has allot more fittings than 4AN. I have 30K on Twins now with zero problems.

The threaded holes in Holset turbo's are for Holset fittings, that is the only thing that works in them as far as I know, you won't find AN fittings to work on them, go to Cummins and buy the two fittings that wern't supplied to you!

well my pm box is emptied out now. . so anyone trying to pm me can ... as for the oil filter housing, i already have the larger fitting on the oil housing teed off with a brass tee for my oil feed lines. . i was going to run it like that... in fact i was going to run my 2 oil feeds for the turbos and one for my injection pump ( for my 8. 3 p pump conversion) off the larger oil port and the small port i have set up or my oil pressure sender..... Someone told me not to tee all the stuff off the 1 larger oilfilter port, but to use separate lines so none of them get favored etc... so what is the consensus?. . tee off the big port or make separate lines?... . also i was planning on running both turbos into the single factory oil drain . any consenus there?... as for the holset fittings for the turbos... what do they end up as? an males?... ie 6an male ??? for a waste gate im going to keep the stock hy35 setup like stock and then i also planned to make a spacer between the hy35 and the exhaust manifold to mount a external gate also... i was just wonder how the hy35's stock wastegate would affect the twins?. . thanks or all the help. . i hope to get more ha and finish the twins so i can get to the p pump conversion...

thanks again
