I have formulated, what I hope is, an intelligent question, even though Prairie Dog suggested none was necessary.
If I understand this correctly, we are taking a harmonic damper and fan pulley meant for the 6. 7 engine and putting it on the 5. 9, as a replacement for the 5. 9 HD, the same way we would use a Fluiddamper, but cheaper? Is this correct?
Yes.
Also, on my 5. 9, I can change the belt without removing anything. I have heard that when one changes to the Fluiddamper or ATS, one must remove the HD to replace the belt. When doing the 6. 7 onto 5. 9 swap, do you retain the ability to change belts without further disassembly?
Yes.
Like Prairie Dog, I have a 2003. Besides him, has anyone done this transplant successfully on an '03?
The 6. 7 damper and fan pulley should fit on any 3rd Gen 5. 9
Thank you.
