A 12 valve lift pump doesn't work well with a filter on the suction side, no problem with the two screens though.

Nope! - He don't need no stinking screen! :)

So, what cause the screen to be plugged?

Haven't done a Bio autopsy of the foreign matter yet. Kind of strange it was the only place it showed up was in that strainer. A little background, the truck was driven on short runs about 4 times while I was undergoing Cancer diagnosis, tests and treatment for approx. 18 Months in Mesa Az. Nothing in the engine filter or added strainer.

I installed the in line screen many years ago when I had fueling issues while we were on vacation to the Redwoods, Yellowstone and the USAF academy in Co.. Drove most of the time with 3psi. When the module was taken out it had a vaseline type gel on the bottom strainer which I cut out and installed the in line. Never imagining there was another one in there.

I just installed the Cummins 180* t-stat and installed my oem Mopar fan clutch. I just did a quick shake down run to burp the system and the t-stat seems way more stable than the Napa. This was just a light duty cruise, I will know more as soon as I can load it up.

The old truck got a work out yesterday. Hauled a load of concrete forms & ect, about 25k GCW. Temps in Phoenix were 115* all systems worked good, never did shut the AC off, I just down shifted. The 7% grade out of Superior required 3rd gear at 217*, it was still 111*.

The 5 mile grade out of Salt River Canyon held at 208*, no AC, temps cooled off to mid 80's so used 4th gear. The first half of the down grade I used 4th and the last half I used 3rd, almost no foot brakes.

If I hauled under these extremes all the time I would need more cooling system but once in a blue moon, it is fine. I really like this 180* Cummins stat.

I talked to a hotshot trucker at the form yard, he had a 40' 3 axle dually custom built trailer, towing it with an SRW Chevy. He had a load of form returns, 34K and said it runs 90 mph with that load like it is not there:D I think he is using v-power...

The trailer has sliding axles and a hydraulic neck that will lift 4-5 feet, he can haul containers. The hydraulics was powered with a gas engine, nice trailer, he said he built it. He is from Wickenburg, Tom.

There was a guy here pulling containers with a couple 3rd Gens. Haven't noticed a Chevy. It's pretty rare to see a hotshotter running GM around here.

Replaced my shocks with Napa Reflex, off with the Napa Gas Grande. The driver side rear was leaking and not working, about 10 years on them I think. Also replaced both front sway bar links, driver side was broken:eek: I went with the Napa standard links, the high performance were double the money, and the only thing I could see different were the poly bushings.

I don't remember shocks being such a struggle from the last time:D the links were easy.

I know it is winter but....I installed a 10" electric auxiliary cooling fan right behind the blockage of the front license plate area of the bumper. I have just on an on/off switch.

I forgot all about this on my trip to Phoenix:D I haven't needed it since the install, totally spaced it...

$318.00 . I hope it works out for you it definately looks like it will move some air.

I hope it works too. Even if I get a 5* drop it will be worth it. I just hope the fan clutch is up to the task and the cooling system stack will allow the air flow it will need.

It looks just like my Cummins 20" x 10 blade fan on my Ford conversion. It moves a lot of air and it turns at crank speed, direct drive unit. Dodge turns at about 1.35 times crank speed so I am thinking it will provide thrust like an airplane:D

If you mount it backwards it will help when backing a heavy load.

Changed my front axle oil and installed a drain plug. I went with 1/4 NPT. I am a little lazy about changing it so this will jump start me. All my other boxes get changed every 36k miles but the front axle I have only changed twice:(

What mileage was the first drain and fill done for the front axle?
I have found the front axle oil to remain good for longer intervals but never gone beyond 72kmiles.
