My wife is wanting to replace her Lexus. She is looking at a 2004. 5 used for 32,000 but I think she might be able to get a new one for not much more.

I'm sure you are right. Check the threads as someone was just saying they could get a new 05 in the low 30's. Either on page one or two of this forum.

I say if the price is that close go with new, current model year, full warranty, everything new, nearly the same $. No brainer!! Good luck.

Man, I got the truck in my sig brand new for just a little more than that. Talk to Tomeygun in St. Louis, he's on here quite frequently, and I am sure you could get a deal. Oo.

Me thinks the benefit of going new will sway you. There's some great rebate action going on and dealers seem to really be negotiating. We got our '05 for 10K under sticker and are really happy with that deal. We'll save even more, as we purchased our first 12 oil/filter/lubes for $300. 00 which works out to a mere $25 per service. Smokin'!! We considered used too, but from what we found locally and on the net, spend 5K more and get a brand spankin' new unit with warranty and not have to worry about how the previous owner took care of it... .

Good luck!

Heres a truck -- Food for thought :

Out the door (w/o taxes) - $30991. 00

I bought my new '05 in October for slightly less than that. Mine is a 3500 QuadCab SLT 6 speed CTD 610# torque Dually with anti-spin, trailer tow mirrors, and trailer tow package.

It was MSRP of 37820 and I gave 31750 out the door. Oo. I think you can definitely beat the 32000 on a used one and get a new one as illustrated by Tomeygun in the above post. I would go new... get what you want NEW and warranty too! ;)

I just got a SLT 3500, quad, 2WD, LB with just about everything for

$32013. That was out-the-door 'cept for taxes 'cause I was registering it in another state. Bought it from Dodge City of Milwaukee. Great salesman named Tex.

Keep in mind there are 2 laramies - and a TON of seperate options

Tim - "J" package

abdiver - "h" with side air bags, and GPS nav system

Like apples and oranges - Heck, the MSRP is like 2k-3k difference
