What are some of you doing for upgrades to your new 6. 7's/What can you do and not worry about voiding the warranty. Thanks Mark.

Drive it like a truck wash it every week n check it's fluid's then on cold night's give it a warm blankie (block heater ) hasn't failed for me yet :)

I too am not doing anything with the motor, exhaust, transmission, etc... leaving it bone stock. The mods I've done are for hauling my camper and towing. Head to UT on Thursday to ride Quads for 4 days:)

Mods:

Superhitch

Torklift Frame Camper Tie downs

Rear adjustable airbags with incab controls

Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks with incab controls

Stabiloads

2 1/2'' leveling kit on the front

Rear BigWig Stabilzer Bar

I'm going to add some additional backup/flood lights and also a front bumper lightbar with 4 big lights! Looking at some 8'' KCs right now.

Also starting to research going to the 19. 5 rims and tires in another 15k miles which will be likely this coming spring.

I'll do just like I did with the last one (for 11 years and 167,500 miles)----leave it stock and replace the fluids and filters as required. All the money I save on mods can go to keeping the fuel tank full!

good point--but--if you are getting 16 mpg now at $4. 00/gal (= 4mi/$) and you were to increase that to 18 mpg (=4. 5mi/$), if the mods cost $1000, in 36,000 miles, the mods would pay for themselves!

36,000 mi/18mpg=2,000 gal x $4. 00= $8,000

36,000 mi/16mpg=2,250 gal x $4. 00= $9,000

I sold my 2001 with over 150,000 on it and expect my 2011 to do at least as well.

This is just the economics, not even taking into consideration the performance gains in HP and torque. It might just be worth it!

Yes your right the delete's will make it get better fuel econ but why had my 08 for 92,000 trouble free miles and still never found a hill I could't climb without haveing to drop a gear or even loose speed with any load I have hauled and now I have a 11 and it pull's just as hard even my furd buddy drop's his jaw when I pull his 3 car trailer on cajon pass at over 65 + and it never even misses a beat his word's last night was Wow my ford only get's 7 mpg n does same hill at 45 mph with trailer Don't plan to mod this 1 leave it stock drive it hard put it away Happy

Good point I too did the math considering deleting my 6. 7. However I was Unable to throw away my warranty with so few miles on my truck. I don't know about you Red Ram, but I'm going to wait for another couple of years before the emissions equipment falls off my truck. I did however unplug my EGR and gained about 2 mpg on the highway, nothing while towing however except for lower EGT's by about 150*. It's free and I can still take my truck in for any warranty work. Oo.

Just FYI, the only warranty you would be voiding is the emissions portion. The rest of the warranty would still be in tact.

If your DPF is removed, the dealer can't warranty your alternator if it stops working.
