Soon to be proud new CTD owner... . so there goes my free time :D :D :D :D

I am the Sr Mechanic for 4 shops with an Utility Company in So Cal. We have all kinds of equipment from passenger cars, pickups, to back hoes, graders, cranes and aerial bucket trucks. Before this stint I was Heavy Duty Mechanic working on boats, cranes and construction equipment, Field repair mechanic for trucks, and an automotive machinist. I have been working in this field since 1964.

I am a proffessional processed frieght relocation engineer(ok,so its a big word for truck driver),,I also am a racer and car owner(drag racer and co-owner of a sprint car team),,I also benchrest shoot ,bowl ,hunt and spend way to much time with my truck... .

This thread is getting interesting. Lots of Operators, Programmers, and Ex-Military... . Like I have said in other threads, there is enough knowledge here in TDR to design and build anything for our trucks.

Diesel Freak is right. We do have a diverse talent pool. To complete it I design and build the pipelines to bring all that diesel fuel to you wherever you are, worldwide. Been doing that for over 45 years now and at this time am working on design of a natural gas pipeline to bring gas from the North Slope to the lower 48.

Interesting Thread

Well, lets see, currently unemployed pilot, but will start training [7 week duration] for new airline job soon. I'm very happy to be re-employed!!

Previously employed by Chrysler Corporation as a Corporate Pilot. After 11 years, the flight department was sold by the new owners [daimler]. Job disappeared

I've worked as an auto mechanic, to finance most of my initial flight training, and between jobs. I've built a few houses, and bought and sold some land.

I collect and restore old cars: '26,'27,'33 Pierce Arrows, '55 Crown Vic, '57 Chevy, '64 T'bird, '64 Buick Skylark Conv.

Have a farm, horse hay mostly, all the tractors and equipement as needed. Have a few JD's.

I love bombing my truck, and trying to keep up with all that needs to be done around a farm.

Looking forward to the new job!! Greg L

My turn,

After some college, have spent the past 14+ years working for one or the other of the semiconductor manufacturers here in Albuquerque. I've worked in the cleanroom all of this time in the plasma etch area doing electrical/mechanical corrective and preventative maintenance.

Still like the job for the most part, but this is the worst downturn in history for semiconductors. BUY MORE CELL PHONES!

My fifth and latest profession is as a robotics/electrical/mechanical maintenance technician for 3M Corporation, at a factory that makes box sealing tape and Post-It notes.

Before that, I was a journeyman electrician and foreman for an electrical contractor, a job I loved. I left it because the extended travel was taking me away from my son too much.

I still do electrical work here and there, on a part-time basis, on my "off" days from 3M.

I am a battery transport and storage engineer :D. Actualy I am a Route Manager for interstate Batteries. I service most of the automotive shops here in the Tulsa and surrounding areas. Its a Decent living... . but at 23 my back is giving me trouble sometimes so I must find a new line of work soon. Handling on average around 1000 car batteries a week sucks!

Hey, when are you moving out west? I seem to recall you enjoying the pictures...

Gotta warn ya, though, the term "consultant" will get you a lotta snickers out here in the wild... Need to change that over to... oh, let's see... "Solution Provider".

BTW, since you hail from his former city address... You can hear Rush Limbaugh all the way from Pendleton to Portland down the interstate... All the stations carrying it overlap :)

I started out working on the family farm and the family John Deere dealership. Got my Engineering degree 20 years ago. I spent a couple years in sales and decided that wasn't for me. I've been a Manufacturing Engineer for the last 17 years. Spent 16 years with an aerospace company in the Seattle area. Moved back to my home country and been building transit buses for nearly a year.

My work is with Cummins & Detroit Diesel engines.

My project is a 41 GMC dump truck.

My delight is my wife, daughter and son.
