If I watch my TQ outlet temp it rises in D at a light, but the pan temp does not.

Offer a long tow my trans temp will also jump 10-15° in P while I let the turbo cool down.

Hottest I’ve seen my pan temp is 177°ish on a long pull towing in 1/2 unlocked.

Just started reading this thread and remembered why I quit the TDR many years ago .. the member bickering back n forth who’s right /wrong my way better than your way wars were never ending.
I came back to learn about my new ‘18 and my first ever automatic transmission and start reading this crapola

After two pages I am leaving this tread and hope to find better threads for information on the new rig.

May I suggest everyone has opinions and it’s up to the readers as to who’s opinion you value , but I /we don’t have the right to belittle an opinion I /we don’t agree with. Just move on if you don’t agree and stop the arguing and devaluing the TDR experience.

Just one man’s opinion

Just one man’s opinion

Well, for my part, I hope you hang in here. Yep, there's a few hardcore highly opinionated who aren't happy to just share there perspective, but insist they are right and you are wrong. It's just noise. Its everywhere, I even have family and friends who are that way. When you remove some of the pointed words, even some of their info is good.

Just don't take any of it personally, and remember. theres still a lot of good info. I've been here since 2000, and in my posts I always show respect, share info I have, and learn along the way, and try to have fun, mostly at my own expense.

So with all that said, I hope you actually did learn something about your truck in this thread, even from the grumps.

BOTTOM LINE: TDR is a great resource, I have many friends whom I've never met, and I learn something new nearly every time I log in.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Ron

I bought an '04 Chebby 8.1/Allison, and that owner's manual also recommended not idling in gear for long periods. And that thing would sho-nuff get to 200+' if you caught a few lights in traffic, waiting on a train, etc.
