What's up with diesel prices?

I may be missing the boat here but... ... ... what is up with the price of diesel compared to that of gasoline? It has always been my understanding that diesel is cheaper to refine, therefore, all other things being equil, it should be cheaper... right? Can someone that really knows the answer please chime in here? I'm starting to look at my old motorcycle in the garage and think it's time to bing it out of mothballs again. Only this time I'm trying to figure out how to get a diesel engine under the tank

They can. Current use of fuel has not slowed down. I talked to one of the terminals yeaterday and they are up 30% since January. Look for anothr increase soon. The only way it will come down is if the public stops traveling.



The price of crude has nothing to do with it either, even if they had more, the companies could not porduce more finished product.



There hasn't been a new refinery come on line for over 40 years, and the existing ones are producing at over 100%. Look what happened to BP yeaterday.

The refinery problem is what one cause is. The Saudies say they can pump all they can, we don't have the refineries for it. Do you think that will change? It will not and why is that well the oil companies are living high on the hog and they won't cut their own throats to help us. Will the U. S Gov. help? Where do you think "W" got his money as well as his family? I have always said as long as the taxpayers keep acting like sheep being led to slaughter things won't change. Email, call and write elected officials and let them know you are mad as hell and you are not gonna take it. As for me I do not recognize the U. S Gov. , it is the largest organized crime ring in the world, nothing but crooks, cheats and liars. There are some good elected officials but not many.

Diesel Prices

Last Friday, the 18th, at the corner station it was $2. 33, Saturday it was $2. 47 and today, Friday the 25th it is $2. 499. Usually I fill it up, today I got 20 gallons for $50. This station is a few cents cheaper than some of the others. I suppose with the event in Texas they'll really, really stick it to us now. Last week a friend of mine in Missouri said it was around 2 bucks there.

the price of diesel here in washington (Aberdeen) is 2. 799. This is high enought where I am thinking about switching over to vegetable oil. www.greasel.com It sure sounds great.

B20 biodiesel in Newport, TN, is now cheaper than straight petro diesel and is just a few cents higher than regular grade gasoline. Looks like a few B20 pumps are being installed in Knoxville. Check out http://eerc.ra.utk.edu/etcfc/ET-biodiesel.html .

Diesel has dropped about 10 cents in the last week (2. 45 - down to 2. 35). Hopefully this is a sign that it is on its down... until they figure out an excuse to raise it again.



Looks like Pasco/Ellensberg is getting BONED at $2. 71 - $2. 79 at Flying J.

Hey guys paste this into your browser window and read what i read this evening, not correct me if im wrong but isn't diesel refined from Crude, right. Well it seems for crude were at a 3yr high on stock piles, something stinks in denmark... .
