Long story short. On the way home last night we're crusing along on the freeway, me in the 95, her in the 98, I pull up beside her doing around 60, blip the lights pull ahead drop back even, blip lights again and she nails her 98. Pulled me about a fender till I can react, then she pulls ahead about a length and a half. :--) :{ :{ . We both shut down at about 90, me cause I'm tached out, her cause the egt thing was saying 1200.

I can't believe it, so I set up another round and she does it again. :{ :{

When we get home she laughs and said well, I guess you'll be working on that thing some more.

I'm thinking delivery valves. When I set the timing I didn't see any markings on the dv I had out so I don't know what's in a 175 pump, but I'm guessing 131s or 151s.

And to add insult to injury, my little bro was over today, I see him walking around my truck, go out and ask what he'll looking at, he said "you know that door looks loose" so dummy me, I bite and say whatta you mean, him " well Kathy said she blew them off last night and I was just check em out" I look up and she's about to bust a gut looking out the door. Man, no respect.

So if anyone has a set of used 181s or 191s, I'm in the market. That and I guess 4" exhaust. Then we'll see who has the last laugh. :)

i would say a plate in there first and then it wil be all over, but yes a 175 pump has 131 dvs the exhaust i dont think wil make enough of a diference to beat her.

J, it's already got a TST #5 plate, centered (due to high egts), a HX 35/40 turbo with a 16cm exhaust housing, and timing at 16. 5 along with 215hp injectors. I thought I had enough. Guess not. The exhaust upgrade will allow me to slide the plate a bit. Since it's already easy to see 1400 to 1500degs I've got a bit of concern about the dv upgrade.

ahhh sorry i didnt see that hmmm how did she outrun you? you seem to have alot more in there as far as concern with the dv upgrade i know on my trucks its a race between the pyro and boost gauge.

just a thought

Do you have 4" exhaust if so is it straight piped if no that will hold them highEGT's in there? If you don't pull all the time think about a higher back end gear. Had a 4-10 told dad need more speed he changed it to don't know what, but I used to pegout at 90-95 now its 120 :-laf and yes thats witha goosneck :D . Sounds like you got the power and more than I got but if the gears are slowen you down kickem to the kurb and get some faster ones trust me the cummins can still turnem I KNOW! Oo.

Good luck!

P S I wouldn't tell nobody else that your wife beat you, tell em it waz your budy or somthing

I have heard that the 4. 10 gear ratio will hold you back as well. When I bought my truck it was already changed to 3. 55 so I dont have anything to compare it to. Thats just what I have been told.

I forgot what rear end my budys got but stock he got a high gear from facktory and i know personaly that that truck will run 135 miles an hour like nothing got scard but he said it still had some pedal left 2004 4x4 6 speed with a high gear

I thought it was SOP for wifey to blow doors off. Mine does the same thing in her 914-6. I top out round 95, wifey laughs at me from the other side of 150. My fault, I bought the dam thing for her. See you on the road tween Indiana & Sacramento, CA. next week.

Cheers,

Steve J

Hi, I don't have an answer to your question but i was wondering, is it safe to have egts that are around 1400-1500 degrees because thats what mine hits when i slide my plate ahead?

Well mopar,

Your wife having a much bigger pump in the 98, I wouldn't doubt if hers has almost 50hp above your 95, given the listed mods.

Doing the DV's in yours will only about level the playing field, I don't think you'll 'blow' her doors off. You'll need to dump in more fuel than that.

If you wanted the more powerful truck why didn't you take the 98?

You guys are a hoot, new wife, I don't think so. But I'll keep that as a option, trade trucks, too easy, and hers matches her gray Trails West horse trailer, out of luck there.

EGT's while it's never smart to run over 1250 or so, most folks get away with 1500 plus for a few seconds at a time, like passing or running the quarter mile. The real problems appear when pulling a 10 mile grade (or 1 mile grade) with temps over 1250 or so degrees.

tURBOdiEZEl, I've replied.

I agree with the earlier idea to change the gears my brother had 410s and the truck was slow he drove my truck ,and had his gears changed and now it moves out real good.

my dads truck has 410s(99 24 valve) and I drove it while my wife drove my truck my truck and she was just in a hurry to get back home, and with the 99 to the floor she left me like I was sitting still. She wasn't even racing both trucks were stock at the

Then you should not have to worry about loose doors :D
