I've been getting a "bump" in the steering wheel for the past year with it getting worse. It seems to get it when I go over a set of small bumps in the road. I took my truck to a friend that has a shop and we went thru the whole front end and everything was tight. He took off the tie that covered a part on the steering shaft and thats the only thing that had minor play. The truck has only 29k on it. am stumped and really did want to just throw $$ at the problem. JB

I have the same problem on my '99... ... . dealer replaced 1x under warranty. It is back and is worse in the hotter weather. I am considering the flaming river shaft. They now have two versions, one more $$ than the other. The new one is called the EZ fit steering shaft kit... . no cutting. Nice unit and it is plated for corrosion resistance. I too want to know if this will help or am I wasting my $$.

Hey. . it must be a Jersey thing then. . You pointed out something too me. . Mine is worse since it got hot out. I'll have to look into the Flaming River one. . have a link? JB

Check your steering damper. Hotter weather increases the oil temp which allows it to flow esier which causes less resistance? Just a thought
