i just wanted to share my exitement that my stock auto finally blew up and i get to get a DTT. getting on the on ramp last night

at about 60 and about 2000 rpm i put the pedal about half way down to go and heard a loud popping noise, rpms went up truck didnt go, when i looked there was lots of trans fluid that blew out from under the bell housing and covered the whole undercarrige of the truck. Now it makes some wierd noise and vibrates with it in park so like i said im happy i finally get a good transmission.

P. s. i ordered a tst #4 to trade in for my 6 does anyone the the #4 power rating. thanks

I know the feeling. Oo.

When my 5th gear blew off I had the same reaction - Yeehaww - 6-speed and SB clutch here we come.

no warning running fine just got on it a little to merge and just heard a loud pop.

yea i ve seen that chart a million times but they dont the rating for the #4 it only goes up to the #5

The #4 is fine but fuels real hard on the bottom... ... I have one in my tool box..... do you wonder why it's not in my pump... . nor tested!

Jim,

I have a #10 in my '95 auto. Piers sugested that I go with a 10 instead of a 4. What are the issues with the hard fueling on the bottom.

The cut on a #4 goes past 0 by about 1/16 inch and is pretty flat with a compound rise of less than 1/8 inch. It definately comes on STRONG but as Jim pointed out, that may not be a good thing. My TC/transmission is starting not to like this plate. When I called TST on the HP specs for a #4, they told me it was about 300hp in a stock 180 pump. By the way, you'll get plenty of preboost smoke with this plate.
