The Night before Christmas

Like "rolling coal" ??

WOW! 1600 posts. :-laf Who'd a thunk?

After installing a 4bt in a chevy truck for a friend he has been having a LOT of fun. Said the other day he passed a horse-n-buggy. Clamped the throttle and laid a cloud out. A glance in the mirror and he saw the horse heading in the ditch... avoiding the smoke and effectively bouncing the occupants of the buggy around.

To those of you guys near Bowmansville, blue ball and surrounding areas, if you see a mid 90's green chevy, extended cab long bed that makes a small puff, Put some smoke on him. He is enjoying his lil 4bt too much.

Now THAT was stupid. Couldn't killed them.

My big truck only smokes a little on shifts, but can throw a LOT of gravel dust. When the gravel is dry and it is worked up pretty good by farm equipment or horses, it is VERY powdery, and it blows a LOT of dust. Even if I'm driving on pavement and there are gravel shoulders. When that happens and I come up to a Amish person or just a rider out having a nice day, I'll get in the other lane if I can, or slow down so I don't cloud them. Don't want to spook the horse either.

That kinda just made me think about the bikers I smoked out earlier on the way home from work :-laf

Ah. You wanted an ***** beating didn't you? :-laf:-laf:-laf

I do not mind sharing the road, but if there is a shoulder available and they are still riding on the main traffic lane, they are going to get smoked out. . I try my best not to smoke people for no reason, or not as much as I used to, however people who tailgate, or drive like idiots are going to get soot flowing through their vents. I guess what I am saying is I don't go out looking to blow smoke all over people, but I am willing to give them some soot for being idiots. . Speaking of smoke, I think I am going to take Black Betty out here in a little bit, and cruise around on some back roads!

Great Smoke Stories

Coming back from Branson on a family trip came across some conjested traffic. Noticed coming up the hill was a guy and girl(blonde hair) on a motorcyle just cruising along in the left lane going about 5 miles under the posted speed limit! There were 6 cars behind them... then me. The right lane had a convoyer of RV'ers pulling a grade and they were not doing any better! BTW pulled by Ferds. This guy was not going to speed up and move the right lane, but was just happy backing up the traffic. Well after about 5 miles of this the lines was getting longer... we all finally passed the RV'ers and it was time to get into the fast lane. This guy did not even move the right, just stayed in the left lane. When it was my time to pass him on the right I was just approaching a slight grade... I did what most of you would have done... keep the auto in OD... lugged it down then put her to the floor, releasing the coals in coupious amounts!!!! This guy was trying to move the right lane, but everybody else that was behind me was already there... so he just backed off. I noticed he pulled into the first gas station... probably to clean himself and noticed his girlfriend had a new color of hair! Some people are just not very condsiderate of other drivers.

well, I got a motorcycle in Black Betty yesterday on the way back out to the lake... they were in the right lane, I was in the left, both of us behind a slow schmuck... well we got ahead of their lane, his schmuck took the exit just about the time I was moving over... I looked one more time as I was coming over, and whaddya know?! they positioned themselves for the perfect smoking, not more than 10 feet off my rear quarter panel... I just stood all the way into it and let the loose AFC spring , 191's and #10 slowly spool my HX40... . it was beautiful! well when the smoke cleared, they were almost doing a nose dive... guess he mashed on the wrong brakes! oops! well they backed off, wayyyyy off after that! oh well, told y'all I love driving Black Betty! After that is the reason this is the most replied to and most viewed thread on the TDR! or a close second... not sure what the stats are lately!

I've got a couple of stories about black smoking people, first off my truck has a tst powermax 3,aftermarket turbo, and what seem to be 60hp injectors along with the usual stuff.

The best would have to be in florida I was driving on a two lane that runs through grayton beach, seaside, sea grove(places like that) and heading to dinner. My gf and I were running late and we got stuck behind a volvo going 10 under:mad: we had a few chances to pass but people kept flashing there brights so we stayed back. He was also swerving and it turns out didn't have his lights on either(drunk __s) so thats why people were flashing their brights.

So I set it on 9, put it in 5th gear at 30mph and went for a running start on a double yellow line. As I passed him and smoked him out, I decided to come back for more. In my rear view all I could see were running lights in a fog,so I let off and got to the point I thought my trailer hitch was 2 feet away. I put it in 6th at 30mph and smoked out both lanes for about 1/2 mile.

At the time gf and I were laughing so hard she cried, the best part about it is, There were restaurants and shops were I smoked him and we had just about everyone looking at the road watching this white car get covered in smoke. :-laf I then booked it and never looked back to see what happened to the drunk volvo driver. Yes it was a dumb thing to do,especially since people saw it. But it was fun and i'll never do it again.

On the way back from the lake I had a 20foot cobalt in tow and we were stopping at a boat store to get some stuff, the parking lot is also shared by a costume shop along with many other places. In the entrance to the lot, A guy was in a giant wolf suit holding up a sign for the costume place. When we came up by him the GF said "black smoke him", so I let a short big puff right in front of him. I kept going in the parking lot and could see him laughing:D

"i'll never do it again"

I don't know you from Adam, but you, sir, are a liar. :-laf There isn"t one person on this thread that I would believe if they said that, myself included.

Sadly, I fell off my high horse and smoked the owner, and his buddy, Highfinance, of a 12 valve I commandeered at the Indy Jamboree.

I was using it to go from registration to the pits, since he left the key in it, they saw me and jumped in the bed.

High finance, the genius that he is, sat on the closed tailgate facing a rearward turned stack.

1st,2nd... . FOURTH.

Say goodnight, Mikey. :{#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!:-laf:-laf:-laf

1,600+ Posts, And Still Going Strong!

Happy 6th anniversary to this thread I created a while back! who would have thought it would have gone this long?! I think just about every seasoned TDR member has posted on here. . I will post a few good smoky stories later on today. .

Ok, I am back. . So, Saturday we were in a funeral procession for the GF's aunt, which was almost 2 miles long, and was a 30+ mile journey. . It amazes me to see the audacity of some people who are willing to cut in the middle of the procession just to make their turn... I had 2 who tried to get in front of me, then ended up on the smoky side... very smoky... I lugged it down to about 1200 RPMS, and just started a heck of a smoke brake, in both cases... another time, in the middle of the small town which we were passing through, a car full of high school girls was trying to get in... They ended up going and sitting at an intersection. . I was brought up that when a funeral procession rolls by, you are supposed to stop whatever it is you are doing, and take your hat off to pay respect to that person. Weather and traffic permitting, while in your vehicle, you are supposed to pull over, and get out, with your hat off... Maybe it's just the way I was brought up, but that's still how I practice to this day. Needless to say those who were too impatient got the Smarty on level 9 with the moderate torque management, and all the other parameters raised as well!!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THIS THREAD!!!

KEEP THE COALS ROLLIN' AND THE STORIES COMIN' BOYS!!!!

Turning Smarty back up

Well after all the belly-aching from my pops about smoke and juvenile activities I turned Smarty down to SW1 and default all settings. Dad was happy for awhile... ... . we were merging into a bunch of traffic and a couple of broads in a T-Top Camaro(with the windows open-perfect candidates for smokin') tried to go around us and cut us off. I refused to allow them around and not only did they tell us we were #1 with the wrong finger they used language very unbecoming of nice looking ladies. Dad said smoke'em. I had a hard time explaining that with the box turned down I had no smoke to offer----Dad was disappointed and said ,"Well then don't let them around on the freeway. " I ran her up around 115 and never saw them again.

Moral of the story is truck has been reprogrammed to the smokey-mode... ..... timing 1, TQmngt-1, railpressure-2, Wild CatcherSW9. Keep foot out when smoke not desired, mash pedal for stupid drivers. My other favorite is Timing-3, TQmngt-1, Rail-2, SW8.

I should be getting my TST PMCR R47 or R49 sometime in the next week. I hear I can make copious amounts of smoke within ANY Smarty setting when stacked with TST. I'll have to wait and see:)

New diesel sites are a dime a dozen. TDR has history, reputation, and an awesome magazine.

Yeah, but Comp Diesel is free, and almost all members of TDR are members of Comp Diesel. . Its a good site for the competition guys, but I like TDR for the Tech info...

No clowns,:-laf its not the site, its the content of that particular thread!!!!!

Private forum, evidently. Here is the main part:

FRom a racer:

" Sema... epa Meeting... not Good!!!

Did anybody else go? It looks like the epa is fixing to start crackig down on the "DEFEAT DEVICES" that so many are useing, manufacturing & selling. The fines were really steep for any infractions & the "off road use only" or the "for race purpose only" phrases wont work. They quoted these words.

Looks to me like the laws are in & have been in place.

Also looks like any product that doesnt carry the right criteria for the epa there wil be fines.

Now, I dont know when or how they will implement all this bad news but the day is comeing. We should all take a good look at our street trucks & stop all this "black smoke" bs.

I would bet that they will make a example out of some poor company soon. We should all keep our heads down & our actions professional. They didnt seem concerned about the diesel motorsports crowd.

This is just my view of the meeting. I'm sure others will have some different views to add"
