Can someone tell me what is the problems with 2015 6.7 def system? Mulitple dealers are tell me i must use Mopar def or warranty will be void.No other def brand will work

You are being told incorrect information by your dealership. All the DEF has to do is meet the ISO 22241 rating.......and any & all DEF sold does meet that rating.

I have never used Mopar DEF except for the original fill. I've been using either truck stop DEF or the Walmart brand. No issues in just over 2 years.

There is updated software and an improved scr cat. They should be covered under your Cummins engine warranty

Sometimes I wonder about some of these dealership employees. Several years ago, I was attempting to address the common vacuum issue on 2nd Gens where the dash vents would divert to the defrost vents when the engine was under load (low vacuum). I had heard that an additional vacuum reservoir would solve it. The parts guy wasn't familiar with this so he sent me out to the service manager. He said "oh, they are designed that way, the AC shuts off when the engine is under load'.

Seems to be a little confusion about this ISO22241 on the Supertech DEF from Walmart , although it says its API certified no mention of the ISO. It was a discussion on another Cummins forum.

Having no idea, never bought it, but it seems many use it.

I've traveled all lower 48 states pulling a 18,000 lb 5th wheel trailer, and I've used Wal-Mart's brand DEF, Blue def. and truck stop stuff at the pump, and I've never had a problem in 47,000 miles. I wouldn't even think of paying for mopar branded DEF.

I stand corrected. The SuperTech does mention no ISO 22241, but does have the API certification.
In any event......I've ran it a few times (as well as Peak DEF) with ZERO issues.

Like Kthaxton, most of my DEF has been truckstop DEF.......I see neither the API nor the ISO 22241classification at the pump or on the nozzle :-laf

I'm currently at 205k miles.......through 192,702 miles, I've been through 281.111 gallons of DEF. 27.5 gallons (eleven 2.5 gal jugs) was either SuperTech or Peak; the remaining 253.611 gallons has been truckstop DEF.

No issues and ZERO CEL's for any DPF / DEF related emissions through 205k miles.

I would have no problem running the Supertech, it has a manufacturing date, and that is all I am concerned with.

I wish I could say the same about DPF/DEF issues, but I can't . Although in reality I had warnings, that turned out to be nothing. Although it is a little unnerving with a 38' fifth wheel in tow, and its counting down the miles until the limp mode. All is well now.:)

In all fairness to the service manager, some engines are designed to cut out the AC under WOT but that would have nothing to do with the vent issue. That said, I have had some really, really bad experiences with service managers. I'd much prefer to talk to the tech when possible. Geez, I can't believe I just tried to defend a service manager...I need to go take a shower now.

If you were dealing with the dealership I bought my truck from ,not sure you would want to defend the service manager. They have been thru four of them in the past year, a couple of them were pretty hard to deal with

Yeah, I could see that, but that was definitely not the case here. It was a well-known problem, a simple vacuum issue. This guy really should have known this. The AC worked fine...it would just blow on the windshield!

Now take that shower! :)

What is their "repair procedure" ??? Drain the DEF tank....then install over-priced MOPAR fluid and clear a code????

DEF = DEF = DEF = DEF

Havethe service tec pull a sample and test the fluid first. Unless you really did some thing wrong put Diesel in the DEF tank or got some bad DEF I'll bet the DEF fluid in you'r truck is ok and there is another issue, Bad sensor, clogged injector or reflash issue....

You tell those dealers if you must use Mopar def then they have to supply it ....FOR FREE ! and that's the law ... Then watch them look at you with that empty look ...

Bob, what trucks are under that TSB.... or should all trucks have this done if they are in the dealer for other work?
