You are being told incorrect information by your dealership. All the DEF has to do is meet the ISO 22241 rating.......and any & all DEF sold does meet that rating.
I stand corrected. The SuperTech does mention no ISO 22241, but does have the API certification.Seems to be a little confusion about this ISO22241 on the Supertech DEF from Walmart , although it says its API certified no mention of the ISO. It was a discussion on another Cummins forum.
Having no idea, never bought it, but it seems many use it.

In any event......I've ran it a few times (as well as Peak DEF) with ZERO issues.
Like Kthaxton, most of my DEF has been truckstop DEF.......I see neither the API nor the ISO 22241classification at the pump or on the nozzle :-laf
I'm currently at 205k miles.......through 192,702 miles, I've been through 281.111 gallons of DEF. 27.5 gallons (eleven 2.5 gal jugs) was either SuperTech or Peak; the remaining 253.611 gallons has been truckstop DEF.
No issues and ZERO CEL's for any DPF / DEF related emissions through 205k miles.![]()
Sometimes I wonder about some of these dealership employees. Several years ago, I was attempting to address the common vacuum issue on 2nd Gens where the dash vents would divert to the defrost vents when the engine was under load (low vacuum). I had heard that an additional vacuum reservoir would solve it. The parts guy wasn't familiar with this so he sent me out to the service manager. He said "oh, they are designed that way, the AC shuts off when the engine is under load'.![]()
In all fairness to the service manager, some engines are designed to cut out the AC under WOT but that would have nothing to do with the vent issue. That said, I have had some really, really bad experiences with service managers. I'd much prefer to talk to the tech when possible. Geez, I can't believe I just tried to defend a service manager...I need to go take a shower now.
