05 Cummins in 84 chevy

Ok I saw it sitting low and I know it would worry me that something would hit it and start dumping fuel on the ground
I worry about my sump draw fuel line snagging something so I built a angel iron shield bolted to my frame to protect it
Yeah it does worry me, I've just been watching it. I have several things I need to build and a skid plate there is one of them. I also need to build trailing arms, rock sliders, and a headache chase rack that will still let my toolbox open. Lol

Ok thanks , weird the V 10 one is super long and a gen 2 cummins cable is shorter i'm having to use that one in my crew cab

Well its cause the Cummins throttle is on the side near the driver and the gas motors are in the middle. They have to wrap around to reach it.

Other than cutting it down was there any fitting issues using then Gen 1 cable going into the fire wall or the pedal ?

Not on mine. Just had to use some a spacers and a end piece that you can get in a pack at autozone. Has two screws that push together to hold the end of the cable.

Were you able to make factory guages work ?
I am trying to figure out the temp guage wiring

Yeah just transfer your temp sensor from the old motor over to the cummins. Temp port is back by number the 6 cylinder. Keep your old ecm and wiring in the truck and it will work.

Did you have issues with your pulleys or the belt ?
I am scratching my head on this one , i am running the gen 2 fan hub from a 94 in my crew cab and the AC compressor because its for R 134 A like the 98 is .
I also used the 94 belt tensioner . Now the belt touches its self were it runs back down to the compressor im stumped what is the issue difference in the compressor pully ? The belt ,new for the 92 parts house says there all the same any ideas ?

See my post in your thread in the 1st Gen forum.

What did you do with un needed wires ?
What did you hook to for a hot wire for the pump the coil wire or pump wire or both ? Id like to weed out un needed wires by cutting and dead heading or whatever

The only wires I kept on the cummins is the ksb and fss wire, I cut the rest off. I used an external regulator for the alternator and made my own harness for the compressor. I only kept the wires I needed for the sensors from the oem ecm, cut the rest off as well.
