The CP4 is a Non-issue many will have the conversion kits available Late 2019, Sooner if the Market allows.

I'm waiting for the Non-external EGR....Late 2020?

But the conversion kit is only good if you want to convert. IMHO one of the reasons I bought a new truck was to just drive it, and not have to change things out.

Yes , its Substantially (CP4) less cost to manufacture...It can last if your willing to spend the $$$$ on Auxiliary fuel system, I seen Many CP4 make it to 500K miles. and they were done, I've also seen wear at 40K miles. Its just Not a forgiving Pump. Denso Stuff in the LP5 has its sure of fuel relate problems.
The 2013+ Rams have the better filtration of the three IMO.

The design of the CP4 requires it to run at 100% and return NON-used fuel VIA Rail electronic LV...

The electronic LV like to leak, My 2015 3.0 has this Valve it Now throwing P0191 so I will be modding that soon. what was wrong with the Mechanical LV the Cummins used for 16 years at a low cost to replace VS $300.00+ valve alone with the electronic software to run it is beyond Me.

The one percent'ers still what to change things, look at SAP2018 sig line. The rest of us just want to drive a factory reliable vehicle, with the manufactures warranty intact.

Cost is not the issue. The CP4 makes more pressure than the CP3. That increased pressure is needed to control emissions.
That's the BS the marketing people are using as the reason for going to a cheaper component. I have been told the CP3 is plenty capable of higher pressures, especially given its much more robust design. Look at the two apart on a bench, and you'll see the CP4 looks like a throwaway piece, no comparison.

AD, I can't reveal My sources , Yes it helps it had very, very little impact on emissions even at the 40Kpsi we Were testing at.

The CP4 life is completely regulated by pressure, the Higher the pressure the shorter the life.

I have read that the Denso setup is far from trouble free. Pretty discouraging when trucks cost what they do.

So far I have heard zero issues with the DENSO, I have heard zero issues with the Fords in the last couple years.

The Cummins in the NISSAN uses the Bosch pump have they had issues?

Ford uses Bosch in the Scorpion 6.7. They stopped using Denso/Nav in 2010. Bosch lost the Duramax 6.6 to Denso in 2017, Rumor has, its just a shot across the Bow, Bosch is working to regain the 2022 Duramax contract.

A quick search reveals plenty of L5P pump and injector issues that are not from fuel contamination. Don't care a hoot about the dmax anyway. As to the Nummins, how many did they sell, a dozen or so:p???

So educate me. What are the stock pressure numbers between the two?

Why should I...Your claiming something you cannot support...If its your opinion then stated it. If I even answer your question you wouldn't know the answer because you DON"T know the correct info.

Duramax has used a scissor gear for the cam gear for a while. They are simply two gears spring loaded together to reduce gear noise. In my opinion they are a non-issue. The CP4 is substantially less money than a CP3. In fact they are less than many accessories many of you purchase. If your that worried change it every 50k and tell yourself it's just another nice set of floor mats.

They should pay one money to take one!

I'm going with the 2018 shown in the beginning if this post. As with my last build out of my 2006... I'll be doing postings and updates. First thing I'm ordering for this 2018 is some AMP power running board (the ones that don't piggyback off the ODB port) and a Smarty Touch. Later to come... A Leer or SnugTop cap, FabFours Bumpers, Winch and who knows...... Gonna have this truck for the next 12+ years.

As for the 2019... I don't need that huge 12" touchscreen or lane keeping assist or other tech... ****, I'm happy enough having bluetooth.

How does one lift that back on a truck with coil springs. Taller springs? What does that do to drive staff angles?
