I've not done the factory thang, but I installed, Programmed, and used TPMS with heat reporting on my 5500 and DRV. Installed aftermarket TPMS with temp and worked great on the truck and DRV. I didn't move sensors over to trailers when pulling big gensets... they were always low on are and filled them with onboard ai at 15 minutes per tire from 50 PSI to 80 and above. It all worked.

So, can't tell you how to make factory TPMS with Temp work, but there's sertainly working aftermarket solutions out there.

Cheers, Ron

Nah, my truck swaps front to back all the time. Dealer gave up trying to figure it out.
The only explanation I got from a TPMS engineer was , in my case the sensors could be mounted on their bands facing the wrong way. Inboard not facing outboard. Confusing the computer receiver. Oh well it was worth a try, and it is working somewhat.

Talking about sensors swapping I had an idea this morning.

I put some takeoffs on my truck, with sensors, and tossed the OEM wheels in the bed to get the rubber swapped out. The new tires picked up within 2 miles, but the fronts are on the left and the rears on the right.

It makes me wonder if the extra sensors in the bed are messing with the reading.

Every other time my sensors have swapped I’ve had a spare in the bed that I think still has the sensor in it. Maybe I should pop the bead and find out.
