Works fine

When I bought my current 98 12v it came with a brand new moog track bar that I requested be installed. Although it worked fine without wander I decided to do some preemptive work and installed the 3 gen track bar with the bracket from Laser Smith and the DSS steering stabilizer. Thus far I am quite pleased with the steering.

I've got a 2000 RAM Diesel 4X4 and had a problem with the front end. I hit a Railroad Track pretty hard and mangled my ball joints. I replaced them with Moog Ball Joints that have a lifetime warrantee. Some time back I replaced the stearing box. At about 60K I think. My tie rod ends and some bushings are getting a little loose that'll be the next job in an effort to tighten things up but I'm not fed up with it yet to go there.

As far as alignment is concerned I have a Tire dealer in my area that offers a 3 year alignment deal for about $180. As many times as I need it during the 3 years. I tend to go every 6 months. This seems to keep my tires from getting chopped to badly. For me this is a pretty good deal.

2002 3500 w/81,000 miles- installed 3rd gen track bar,new tie rods and a really good alignment truck is alot better. After market box and pump are next.

i readjusted my steering box and tweaked a hair more toe out (the last set of tires lost the outer tread before the rest) into mine and it feels great, i adjusted the box when i got it and here some 3-4 years later another adjustment has it feeling better again

Mine drives like it did when it was new. No wander or uneven tire wear in over 60,000 miles. I thought going to the 285's a couple of years ago might make a difference, but it didn't. I put a Mikes Steering Brace on it when the truck was new as a preventive maintenance measure. Grease the fittings every year. So far so good.

Steering

Never did have any problem with the steering, But at a little over 200,000 I decided to go off road, and had Carli Suspension change out everything that was stock, Did get a Dss also, 4 King bump stops full rear deaver springs front springs shock towers and shock tower brace, dual stablizers t bar etc etc

steering gear box

Looking for information on Saginaw or spelled saganal steering gear box for 1995 dodge 4x4 diesel.

Will a steering box off a 1990 dodge, two wheel drive fit?

02 2500 HOdiesel, 130 K, now new steering shaft, bd steering stabilizer, moog ball joints, replaced stock track bar,and now ordered bd trackbar kit --hope to regain control of the death wobble, otherwise this suckers gone.

Bd track bar kit is AWSOME! It really tightened things up. Solid Steel is an easier install because you don't have to drill holes. BD bracket mounts in 5!!!! locations. seemed like overkill to me. Definately a quality kit. BD steering box bracket also excellent. I replaced all joints with Luke's Links(I had to remove the one on the steering arm because it wouldn't clear the track bar bracket). I also installed a new steering dampener for good measure. My steering is rock solid.

'95 2wd 2500 replaced steering box, aligned, factory recall (plastic ties around steering shaft), still pulls to one side during breaking and wonders a little at freeway speeds wider tires in front really helps to solve problem but rub on hard turns

96 2500 250K miles.

3 trackbars so far.

Put in DSS (different make now, but same steering box stabillizer) about 5 years ago. Replaced 'Y' steering components with HD straight bar parts (look in other threads for steering upgrade).

Just replaced ALL the front suspension rubber parts, (4link and swaybar), with nice red polyurethane parts.

It tracks nicely and doesn't wander, however there is a ton of slop in the steering box that is next on the list.

97 2500 4x4 Qc long bed 180K miles

03 track bar with Darin's track bar kit, Darin's Steering Stabilizer and death wobble yesterday... I hope I will fix that...
