2001 2500 sport 4wd 3 in lift... new steering box corrected.

'97 4x4 EC LB. 220K miles. Replaced OEM track bar 3 times and rebuilt the OEM steering box once. Finally installed a bracket kit and used a late model track bar. Also finally installed Windecker Machine steering stabilizer that puts a bearing on bottom of steering box shaft. This has mostly fixed the problem.

Suspension

Had my stock suspension for 200,000 miles only reason I changed it I got the Baja bug and went to Carli's Suspension and a DSS bar

I found the best fix is to drink a dozen beers before you drive. The problem goes away.

I tried that, But the d_m problem still there.

Wandering truck

Wanders around, pulls to the left when braking but once steering is corrected it pulls only slightly to the left. Dealer had the truck all day and couldn't find a problem with the track bar or alignment. Somehow came up with leaking rear axles seals so had those replaced and eventually they blamed the problem on rotor surface heat cracking which aren't warped and the cracking shows up after each machining anyway.



Anyone have experience with Solid Steel Products? I'm looking at installing their track bar upgrade and steering stabilizer to help take some slop out of this thing.

Wandering

02 2500 New after market adjustable track bar, new upper and lower ball joints, new wheel bearings, new after market steering stabilizer (made biggest difference) and an alignment, pulls slightly to left now, but no wandering.

Just ordered the BD steering stabilizer, Lukes link rebuild kit and bushing plus MAXX sway bar mounts all from Geno's garage. Soon as I get back from vacation in Greece I'll be getting all greasy messing with the truck

Have 97 3500 duallie. Have replaced track bar with aftermarket lifetime warranty unit. Added steering box cross frame brace and 2 HD Steering stabilizers. Have not had any more problems with wandering. (The last item added 2 years ago was the cross member sterring box brace. This seems to have cured the problem for good.

01 2500 4X4. installed lukes link and steering box modifier from dpp. All this did help, but now I need to go back and reajust the lukes link.

steering nightmare

i have a 2001 2500 4x4 and a 2001 3500 4x4 flat deck both have been a complete nightmare as it related to anything about the front end!!!!
