Battery SG

Which Battery would be Best

I've got a 38' Work and Play on order which is a race trailer with living quarters- the front of the trailer is a straight vertical panel. I've read up on some of the rv forums about the truck mounted wind deflectors- they seem to have limited benefits- if you average out the responses.

something not discussed on their forums is the "bubble" you see on commercial truck boxes (would not work for 99% of the 5er's due to the 5er nose shape).

I'm not looking for miracles but suspect it's good for . 5+ mpg. In my favor is that my trailer is only 9. 5' tall (+ the AC unit). I tow about 25k miles a yr with this setup, a lot of it at a bit over the posted 70/75 limit and can get killer headwinds heading west on 40 or 80.

For these reasons- I think it might be worth it for me. Anyone have direct experience or know where to shop for these? I've discoverd nosecone.com and that's about it.

How about a wing for the top of the cab? A search may turn up more info, or try www.taylorwings.com

No, I'm not affiliated with any commercial enterprise (not because I don't wanna be, nobody will have me! :{ )

You know... ..... I had looked at and considered these a while back. At the time I considered them to look too "rednecky". In the mean time, I'm not thrilled with what the Bubble would do to the looks of my nice new hauler and the install is more permanent and could affect resale...

I've talked with both companies- I'll probably spring for the wing- I still don't like the looks but they are confident and guaranteeing 10%, it should pay for itself in a season, be easier on the drivetrain and can be returned in 90 days, and it's easily removed if desired without trace.

I like those Fury's- looked at a 38 but they discontinued the pimp interiors for 05 and the 38 was a little too big etc, slide, height weight etc.

My 29' Fury is an 05, it's pimpin' Racer Red! I like the fact that it's vinyl better than the colors, way easier to clean after riding the toys! I liked the Dune Chaser series also, leather interior and a KING SIZE rear bunk... very similar trailers and floorplans but no dealer close... bummer

If I do upgrade someday, I'll look at 5ers and probably lean towards the Work/Play models. After a few trips in mine I would prefer less foo-foo goodies with less weight and more room for toys! (as long as it has heat & a/c my better half will be ok!)

I tried getting W&P to do a biker/racer interior but no go- we'll be remodeling as soon as it gets here, have some diamond plate like wall paper, going to paint, redo uphulstry etc- seemed to be the lesser of the evils- at least I know it'll hold up.

That'll be sweet! Gonna use some better marine grade vinyl? If I was doing that, I'd also consider a layer of Tempur (like Tempurpedic beds) material under the new skin. We found a queen size tempur pad for the front bed (nice), those in the bunks MUST SUFFER (they're hanger-ons anyways)! Can't get too much comfort after bashing around for the day!

I stopped at putting black/white checker contact paper in the drawers, it could go on for a long time.
