Could someone please give me the high and low side pressure specs. (min. max. ) for the
air conditioner in my 97.
My service manual is "lost" in the mail and I need these specs now. I REALLY need my air. (yes, I'm a wimp. I admit it. . ) Thanks.

They set the charge with a temp probe on the low side. You can get close by getting the high side psi double the low side psi. 100psi low-200 psi high. 120-240 150-300 Exact psi depends on outside temp. This will keep you out of trouble and cool you off. I do not know the low side line temp as they use the drb scan tool. Specs I gave will keep you out of an overcharge condition. You may have to put cardboard over the condenser if it is cool out to get high side up to 250-300 range. It is best to get it to 250. The recharge kits at the auto stores sell have a nice temp pressure chart, you may want to get a copy of them.

Assuming 80 deg-90 deg Ambiant temp:
Low side 32-45psi
High side 190-240 psi

Thanks guys,
I got my high side up to 250 and am now getting cool air. Put in about 8 oz. but for the life of me though, I can't find any leaks. Compressor cycles properly and the
expansion valve seems to be behaving ok. I'll
just have to see what happens. Thanks again.....

Sorry for the delayed response. The specs above are for R134a! Per 1997 Ram Truck Service Manual(Sec 24-10). Here are the actual readings of my 1997 3500.
ambient temp 75 deg
Engine RPM 1200
Blower on high.
Low side 44#
High side 225#
Duct temp 45 degrees
100 PSI on the low side would indicate a serious overcharge with R12 or R134a!
Hope this helps.
