Was haunting my local stores in an attempt to see if I could scrounge a box or two of ammo. Stopped at local Wal-Mart and inquired as the case was pretty bare from my last visit, (2 days ago). Manager told me that corporate advised shipments have ceased for ammunition. Now, he didn't qualify for how long... Yet he didn't sound optimistic.
My hope is my local store screwed up somewhere. My fear is that Wal-Mart, as the nations number one ammo supplier, is hedging it's bets; they want to deplete in house stock so as to reduce financial liability should ammo become unsaleable.
It is a WAG, yet not a stupid one.
At the very least, (if the case) it should free up distributors from "contracts" they have with wal-mart and get it into other stores.
Thoughts?
