I have 225000 on my VP44 and it hasn't died yet, but, I have caught my lift pump in time to keep it from starving the pump.

I replaced a VP on a friends 99 last week. This was the original pump and the current mileage is 193k. Not to bad I would say. Stock truck. Bought with 133k, no LP replacements in that time. Can't say for the first 133k. Pass on some thanks to the TDR for diagnosis and help on the replacement.

Thanks

Thomas

mine gave out at bout 70k. i took it to the dealer and they ran their stupid-*** tests and said it was the injectors. boy were they wrong. bought new injectors and still ran rough. new vp later and we back rollin coal.

Mine just went at 70K, they tried to tell me it wasn't covered under warranty, however they finally agreed it was and are swapping it out.

Well, I stated earlier that the original owner of my truck replaced the pump @ around 100k. I just turned around 147k and I'm in the process of replacing the pump again :p

original vp-44 535690 kms (332860 k) no mods to fuel system except lift pump moved back to tank . on #5 lift pump. Original injectors. engine stock except 4in exhaust.

98. 5 bought new feb. 98. vp-44 replaced 16000mi. Two mos. old. Sold truck 2002 with 390000mi. VP still fine, after 5 lift pumps. Bought 2001. 5 in 2002 replaced 6 lift pumps. Rebuilt engine at 535000 with mods. Decided it deserved new VP-44 and ECM as both had well over 10,000hrs. Bench tested old VP. It was showing its age, but was still within specs. Both trucks used for boat transport nationwide. 2001. 5 now at 647000mi. and NOT FOR SALE. Fuel filters FLEET GUARD 10micron changed at 10000mi.

You just never know with those things. I talked to a gentleman last week with 247K on the original VP on his '01.

My first lift pump died at 74,000 miles. The second lift pump and VP44 died at 85,000 miles. Going strong at 132,000 miles. Keeping my fingers crossed for my 2002 (2 wheel drive)

Mine went out with about 175k. As far as I know (bought 5/01 w/75k) it was the original VP. If it wasn't the orig then it lasted 100k.

178,450 miles.
I am NOT the original owner, so I have no idea if this is the original pump.
I bought the truck with 110,000 miles, so I guess it is really only safe to say
that I got ~68k miles on this one.
