I am leaning towards a DTT transmission upgrade and I would like some advise from guys that have done it. I mostly just hot rod around town and tow 4 times a year, I dream of twins but not for a while. With My Juice/A on level 5. I think I am close to 400 hp, but the transmission just wont transfer the power to the ground and it's ******* me off. There are several options 89% 91%, billet input shaft, etc. as well as other stuff. What should I choose and what are the pros and cons? Also I run Cooper 35s on my automatic, and have 3. 73 gears, should I change to 4. 10?

I want to learn from your mistakes, if you had to do it all over again what would you do?

AllGoodHaywood,

Talk with Bill at DTT and explain to him what you'd like to do with your truck and he'll set you up with the appropriate package. I couldn't have been happier with the folks at DTT and the performance of my 2001 with DTT products. Bottom line, call Bill and he'll let you know what you need.

Good luck! -Ken

Bill is the best source for advice. I am happy with my 89% TC, it allows for a little quicker spooling. You will be happy with any - so much better than stock.

same here I love my DTT!!

Bill is the man!!!

Billet input and out put shafts are a must!, if you are planing on twins i would go 91%, the 91% will be a little tight with your current set-up but i think you will love it after the twins 600+ hp

just my $0. 02

Spend the extra for the shafts... having the piece of mind is worth it. I went with the 89H on mine. I'm running 10. 10 in the 1/8th in mine. Not too shabby with stock injectors and turbo and 33x12. 5's. THE BEST MOD SO FAR. My rep was James Northum in Dallas Texas. GREAT JOB James!

I also agree, go with the extra for the billet shafts.

I love my DTT and will never run anything else, its that awesome!

And not one single problem, large or small.

I have a fully built DTT and also love it lots!!! I got everything xcept for the output shaft because I didn't have the extra cash and I knew that I could break it without ruining the rest of my transmission so now with my new BD RAD then its just a matter of time till it snaps has held 9 12psi launches so far! But If I had it to do over I would have put the billet output on the plastic and done it right away.

call bill he will let you Know what you need. I have vb and servos. All a could afford at the time. I put in everything i could with out taking the trans out of the truck. Double deep trans pan to. second gear lever. Old girl loves to spin those 35 up into second now.

It's the best mod I have done to the truck. I just can't figure out why the factory can't do it right the first time??? From now on every truck I own will have a DTT transmission!!!

Mine too :)

The 89 or 89H works real good with the taller tires and/or gears! I run a 91 myself but really like the 89, after the next mods will be the deciding factor.
