Freight haulers & snow mobile trails....it never ends well

This one was less than $25 more than the Interstate it replaced. Warranty is full replacement 5 years, no questions asked, no pro rated bs. My last Interstate was 2 year full warranty followed by a poor pro rating.

Costco has a contract with IB and due to the sheer numbers they buy can offer them alot cheaper than most anywhere else you can find an Interstate. Not to mention the warranty Costco offers wont be found through any other location that I've ever seen. There are no Costco stores within several hours of me so its not even an option here.

What I would like to know from those who have bought from Costco, what is the condition of the warranty? I would be surprised if they honored the warranty more than one time from original date of purchase. More often than not warranties are used a a marketing tool, they may look good up front but once the fine print is read and quality taken into consideration the deal isnt so great.

As many here might know, I also like to sing the praises of any battery made by East Penn Manufacturing/DEKA here in the US.
Firstly, they have been and remain oem supplier for CAT Equipment...you KNOW that CAT doesn't want to be called out on a no start warranty call just to find out the battery was dead. More importantly, over the years I have been acquainted with three different independent automotive supply shop owners that have indicated in their personal experience,East Penn/Deka batteries have a MUCH lower warranty return rate then Interstate and other brands. But what REALLY sold me on them is the TWO Deka 12v batteries that came in an old Deere diesel loader that I bought used and only runs during the summer and fall time, stays outside in the winter (OK, under a tarp at least!!) and was NEVER kept on a charger during its downtime. Those puppies RELIABLY started up that loader every Summer for FIFTEEN years before I left the battery switch on one too many times and finally managed to kill them. I now run East Penn manufactured in ALL my and my kids vehicles and as of this date have yet to have one die fro old age expect those on the loader that I finally killed!!!

I got in on the Sears deal for Platinum's but one of them took a bath. Replaced with Duralast Golds. My stock wet cells are probably still living in a 12v.
