Okay... ... .

Checked my front brakes for wear at 26,000mi.

passenger wearing a little more than drivers side.

The one thing I needed to find out is, what size are the caliper

bolts? They look like a twelve point of some sort.

The other bolts that the calipers slide on are a socket, which I need to know the size of also...

Tried to find out from the manuals and did not find anything.

I have a 2001 4X4 if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance for any help you wonderful people can give me.

I'm always happy when I am able to buy some more tools :D

5/8" and 15 mm are almost the same. Not sure what it really is but am sure that both metric and inch are used on our trucks. Real PITA.

Thanks for the help folks... ... ... .

But the sliding pins arent an allen socket, but a type of torx head.

I guess I'm off to the tool bin for 12 point sockets and torx drivers.

Just Did the brakes 2 days ago

The Caliper bolts are 5/8" 12 point. But you don't need to do anything with those. The Torx head slide pins are the only thing you need to remove to replace the pads. It is a t-45. Replacing the pads takes 10 minutes. It's almost longer to remove the wheels than replace the pads.
