Snow Man, towed the trailer to the ocean and back this weekend. Around 500 miles round trip. 12+ MPG I am :D Oo. :D very happy. Do not come out of overdrive now in normal freeway cruise. SNOKING

Installed the 3rd gen track bar and bracket this evening and did a test drive. Straight as an arrow on the hiway. Steering is very precise. Also have the Banks brake to install and then a fuel pressure gauge and I am done. Chris

Got my Larry-B turbo heat shield installed. Now I have another question. How strong is my Dana 70. I have not bombed heavily. Is the Dana 70 the new weak link? I have Amsoil 75-140 in it.

Also with the DD1 Jammers, Comp (EZ mode), exhaust and BHAF, what kind of HP and torque do you think I have. HY-35 waste gate is set to 28 lbs with spring and turnbuckle. SNOKING

Merry Christmas everyone. I just love driving my CTD with all the recent bombs. The steering is completely different with the TBK and 3 gen track bar. Power is fun! Just finished the Di Pricol mechanical fuel pressure gauge install. Posted pictures in 3 gen forum by mistake, no wait, my truck is 1/2 or 1 percent 2003 now! Not a problem.

Got the intermediate Banks pipe Sunday when step son came to dinner. He brought our two other granddaughters that we have not seen for 7 years because of a rif with their mother. One is 18 and the other 13. Man have they grown up!

Let see, last year on Christmas day I install my Magnaflow exhaust system and this year the new exhaust brake is in the garage. NO, maybe I better not after all the things I have been doing to the truck for the last month or so.

Merry Christmas

Well, spent a couple hours under the truck and have the Banks Brake mounted and the Banks down and intermediate pipes all installed right to the Magnaflow muffler. The nice part about a SS exhaust is that it comes back apart fairly easily. The Magnaflow exhaust was installed last year on Christmas day when we got home from the kids house. Was having problems until I noticed that I bolted the hanger on upside down at the front of the muffler. When I corrected that, everything lined right up. No more 3. 5 down pipe on SNOKING Ram.

Debating if I want to install all the Banks electronics or just put a switch on the throttle. I have the DTT Smart Controller power on the floor with a old style highlight dimmer switch, to operate with left foot. Was thinking about powering the Banks electronics with the same switch and then thru a toggle switch on the dash. That way I can have the Smart Controller on or the Smart Controller and Brake, but not the Brake without the Smart Controller. SNOKING

Ok, finished the installation and it appears to be working, have to road test after dinner. I am not sure what wiring harness they gave me.

1. One connector to control valve was wrong sex.

2. Orange wire that connects to White with Orange wire at PCM was 2 or 3 feet short.

3. Gray wire to coolant temp sender was 10" to short.

4. Blue wire to APPS was on the wrong side of firewall. Had to make up a wire run and buy plastic loom for that.

Did not use the T-taps, soldered all the connects.

The Larry-B heat shields works with a little trimming for the actuator rod and cylinder mounting plate.

On Edit, road test complete. Cruise control works fine etc etc. I can be on cruise control with Smart Controller and brake on (example 3rd gear) and speed up by foot throttle. When I let up the brake comes on unit I am back the pre-set speed, then it goes off and cruise control take over again. Have a little rattle or vibration when I true left at low speed, sounds like the turbo heat shield vibrating. Will have to check on that tomorrow. Does not seem to have picked up a drone or anything, but a good freeway run is needed you that and the freeway is 20 minutes away.

Tomorrow, have to remove the bolts for the brake one at a time and apply the anti-sez, one should really read the instruction first, right!

Another question, with Banks automatic warm up feature, which activates the exhaust brake to speed the warm up of the engine, what happens if engine goes in cold weather fast idle? Or 3 cylinder idle? SNOKING

We towed to the ocean and back a week ago, and all I can say is that the upgrades were all worth it. Truck handles the trailer very well now. Hardly ever come out of OD now. Mileage is in the high 11's to mid 12's at 18250 GCW. SNOKING

Well here we are with retirement coming in June and longer trips this fall. I am waiting on a HX35 turbo from a nice guy, and I am going to send it to Harry to make it into a PDR HX35. Then it is off we go on the West Coast this year. 2007 is planned for the fall colors in the NE. SNOKING

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this.

You need a Smarty.

It should be the next mod after the DTT. !!!!

I put on a PDR35 and that helped cool things better towing.

Regarding the smarty and auto's I think I will pass.

Update on power. I discovered much later that the cruise control had more power than my right foot. I used the split sinker fish line weight on the end of the throttle cable at the top of the pedal. I gained a bunch of unused power. Something for everyone to check. Lift the pedal and it is moves an inch or more, you most likely have the same problem, in that the pedal in not openning the throttle all the way.
