Stellantis, 520-HP twin-turbo, Hurricane engine

GPF Gas Particulate Filter

Absolutely will fit: The 79s went to 8in rims and L60-15s all the way around and came with one as a spare under the bed. The standard swing out Ram spare tire carrier used for lots of years will work. Found one on Ebay for $80. Will need to sand and paint it.

Might be a couple of weeks, I'm I. Aransas Pass TX with RV blown out rubber brake line, replacement will be here Monday.

Cheers, Ron
I like Aransas Pass....cool little place. Make to Rockport much? Used to have some good places to eat there, was a favorite place to do lunch when I was in the USCG down in Port O.

Absolutely great eateries... ate at Fisherman Cove Wed. Another favorite is the Boiling Pot in Rock Port. My BIL lives down here and we come 4 or 5 times a year.

Friends,

Went out today in pouring rain to get 8lbs of fresh jumbo shrimp for frying this evening. Gonna have coleslaw with tiny shredded jalapenos in it and ranch beans.

My brake lines arrived 3:00 PM yesterday, got 'em installed, bled, and fully mission capable in an hour and forty minutes. Got two more as I see the door side have been rubbing slightly also when suspension is compressed. I'll need to maybe bend mounting brackets slightly on frame to avoid rubbing. No swivel on end that connect to bracket and steel line on the frame doesn't align hose with rounded shape of hose from being rolled up. No biggie, just a minor adjustment.

Anyhoo, next posts will be installation of spare on LRE.

Cheers, Ron

Friends,

Been having fun with the LRE, driving it every week. Fuel gauge starting to be slow to show fuel, so going to drop the fuel tank. Been wanting to do it anyway to inspect wiring and fuel lines and to clean it out good. Might be a week or two into January when I get'er done. I'll post pics and what I find.

Christmas Cheers, Ron

Ron, serious you not thinking of using as red fuel can, that's for drinks!;)

Homer, you joke but I saw too decrepid LREs for sale, one with rotted bed and rusty metal gas can in the bed and one with rotted bed with plastic gas can in the bed, both missing OEM tank. I'm carrying a 5 gallon plastic can in the bed as I am burning fuel down. Mine is 18.5 gallon tank with about a 4 to 5 gallon reserve. I also have an old Milwaukee flexible extension camera that I might take a peek first before dropping the tank.

Cheers, Ron

Good to hear from you, Ron and that console goody looks great as does what I can see of the interior.
Don’t forget the old MoPar gauge system, with the old tech meter movements and voltage limiters and such.
If you wind up behind the dash, there are modern solid state replacements for that limiter back there.
I’m sure there has to be a replacement tank out there if you need.

Ron, going through my stuff as I am packing up to move. Ran across a box of parts from my 77/78 ram charger days. Probably the same as your truck. Are you interested in any of these? If so, they are yours, if not, they are up for grabs to others.
Of course I prefer if someone takes them that they use them or needs them as spares. If someone takes them to sell them, I can sell them on eBay.
Or I just put them back in a box, put them on a shelf, and if I never use them let my kids deal with it when I’m gone.

Lookit that there battery tray! Same as my ‘81 and ‘92 had. I had a gp 31 battery in the ‘81 and the ‘92 had its original MoPar 31 still in it.

Wayne,

Thanks, Nothing like having spares, I'll start a conversation (PM) you with my address and will be happy to pay shipping.

Cheers, Ron
