yeah... While one can change the bell housing, the internal bearing preload would have to be re-shimmed for the new part, so it's basically a rebuild at that point. When my 5600 input shaft was damaged by the pilot bearing failure, it was a rebuild as unlike most transmissions, the input shaft is the first piece in... last piece out.
