Fellow Rammers:

These injectors really cook! Talk about waking up the HO. I thought the 275s were really good, but these Diesel Dynamics stage II injectors are sweet.

Received my DD IIs from Diesel Dynamics on Thursday, but couldn't put 'em in until today (Sunday). Had honey-do's to do on Saturday and would have had to move into my truck had I breathed a word about BOMBing.

Installed 'em in about 1. 5 hours ( my 7th injector install) with no problems today. Cranked her up, turned off the TST PM3-adjustable so I could see the injectors by themselves. What a difference! And not much smoke either. Then, I turned on the TST and started kicking her up one power level at a time until I reached level 9. On level 9, I can clear all the mosquitoes in the neighborhood. I think I need to install a drag shoot to stop. For a 3500 to accelerate that fast is a little scarey. :D

Can't wait to try out the DD IIs pulling my 16K lb 5th wheel.

Happy trails all,

Wiredawg

Real Good!

Larry:

Having had much experience with slipping clutches, I revved 'er out to 2800 RPM before shifting and I didn't floor it either. Didn't slip yet, with only one run out.

The DD IIs seem to have lower EGTs than the 275s. I think this may be a better combination on this HO motor. won't be towing the 5th wheel soon, but looks like we have to take the 20' enclosed trailer out to Texas sometime between November and January. Might get a sense of how good she tows then.

I did smoke an F-350 dually Friday night with the 275s still in. had by 6 or 7 truck lengths coming onto rt 4. I got off of it when he started to drive stupid; he almost rearended this little Honda after I let him go.

See ya soon,

DD IIIs might have been too hot

Chipstein:

First: From what I've read, DD IIIs might have been too much for what I do. I tow real heavy and need to manage my upgrades based on the real reason I have this beast. The DD IIs feel plenty (plenty) strong with the TST-PM3 box.

Second: I won the DD IIs at the Mason-Dixon Chapter of the TDR we had a few weeks ago. Pretty good, Huh? The Diesel Dynamics guys are really great for donating that prize.

I think the DD IIs are the final BOMB. I have Fast Coolers for the transmission, a MagHytec for the rear-end, a South Bend Clutch and Rancho RS-9000Xs yet to put on and that's it (all on-hand).

I might add that Peter at South Bend is really a super guy. I bought a clutch from him last year for my 2500, but never put it on. I traded my 2500 in for my 3500 and the old clutch won't work on it. I asked him and he's going to let me swap out clutches, I pay the shipping and the difference in price. You can't beat that with a stick!

The TDR is a great place and we really do have some fantastic vendors taking care of us.

Happy trails, Wiredawg

Wiredawg,

A question...

Which bomb do you think provides the most bang for the buck on a HO motor - injectors or fueling box?

Yeah, I know everybody will say both, but I'm on a budget

IMO Fueling Box!

Dane:

If I could only put one performance upgrade on, it would be a fueling box. When I had my 2500, I installed the TST on it with really dramatic results. I later installed 275s, which enhanced it a great deal. Likewise on my new 3500, I installed the TST first, because I get the most results. I installed the 275s, then installed my DD IIs. Did the same with a friend of mine on his HO motor: TST PM-3 then the DD IIs

Don't get me wrong, injectors are a big improvement, but the box is substantial, especially if you get one of the adjustable ones.

Defintely first need EGT, Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges no matter what you do.

A little side story: traffic was heavy on this littlle two-lane back road today. I punched the computer up to level 6 pulled out, punched it and left this bodaciuous black cloud. This speeding Camero swerved to keep from "hitting" the black cloud. He didn't catch me. :D

Gotta love it! Wiredawg

Wiredawg, Good to here you got those injectors in. When I tow I leave the box off and only use the injectors, they are fantastic by themselves. see ya. Ken

Wiredawg,

Glad to hear about the DDIIs, I am getting a set from Piers and a Comp box to go along with them. Next call is to South Bend Clutch(hopefully it will wait untill Spring) for a new clutch & kevlar pilot bushing. I will have to wait for a new turbo until next year.

Wiredawg...

I am glad to see that Vivian let you install her injectors into your truck for now. :D :D . You know though, when she gets her truck you will loose the injectors so she can have them. We all seen who was holding the winning ticket that night and there were lots of witnesses.

Hope you enjoy them while you can,LOL. Its nice to see some feedback for the vendors who donated the prizes for our recent Dyno meet. Another Diesel Dynamics satisfied customer.

I know this though Wiredawg,I think I am going to let Vivian hold my raffle ticket next time. :D :D ... ... ... Andy

Barry,

I personally haven't had stage 1's but I have had 275rv's, stage 2's, and stage3's. There is definately a big difference between the 275's and 2's or 3's but there is also a pretty big difference between the 2's and the 3's. So to answer your ? ,the best I can, I would say yes there is a big difference between the 1's and 3's. If you upgrade your turbo I would definately go to 3's.

Wiredawg,

Maybe you should bring it down to MIR this Sunday, and test her out.

I do alot of driving up and down rt 4 also, I will have to keep my eye out for ya, don't want you sneaking up and smokin me :D

Ted

I had the Bully Dog 1s in my '01. I am going to install DD1s or 2s in my 02. I do not race empty, just loaded and always pass going UPHILL!

Wiredawg, I received my injectors last Mon. I'm going to wait till I get a box to install the injectors. Just can't beat the price. Glad to hear you like your. Jeff:cool:

All: Haven't finished my first tank with these injectors yet, but looking at the odomenter, looks like I might have an improvement in fuel mileage. I keep trying to baby this thing, but evertime I turn around, there's some Ford or Chevy cutting up around me and there I go. maybe, one day... .

Ted: I'll keep an eye out for ya. I usually run up rt 4 at around 0600 to 0615 and come back done from 1700 to 1930. Dang, I wished I could make it up to MIR, gotta take the wife to the airport at noon.

Jeff: I'd put them injectors in now! Great way to see how they get up on their own. Have you changed injector before?

Hammer: Boy howdy, when they called our number and Viv shouted here, I reckon you couldn't slap the smile off my face. Tell ya, the whole trip to Kaufman's was great.

Y'all have a great day, Wiredawg

All ya have to do is....

... . keep your foot out of it. Yea right:rolleyes: . I did see a slight gain in mileage when I installed mine. But it goes back and forth depending on how much I dog it:D ... Doug
