I don't know if this has been posted before, but I figured out a simple solution to disabling the door chime/key in ignition warning. Two problems were taken care of with this modification. First, I like to listen to the radio with the doors open, truck not running when I am working near the truck. With the key in the switch and turned back to accessory so the radio will play, the stupid chime thing keeps beeping. Second, I like to leave the truck running, but lock the doors while I run into a convenience store or choke and puke. If the key is in the ignition, the electric locks won't work from the remote or from the driver door switch.
The solution to both of these problems was to grind just a little from the tip of the key. This enables you to pull the key out just slightly with it still in the switch and in "on" or "accessory" position, but opens the door chime circuit. The locks will lock and the radio will play, but the horn honk/lights flash indicator does not occur and the radio lights go out. It is a nice solution without any wiring modification. It may be a solution for folks with the auto transmission who hate the door open/moving horn alarm.
