I have a 2003 1 ton 305 horse 555 torque dual rear wheels has anyone had experience with upgraded trannys and an exhaust brake ATS,Suncoast say it is no problem if you add a copilot

Austin, you are correct, you will need a copilot to keep your TC locked up.

When I had my trans built,I went with a BD valve body & had my internals built as well. I got a great deal on the VB & would get one on the EB as a member of the TDR. Speaking with the guy at BD, he said their VB's played nice with their EB's electronics.(trying to remember back 2 yrs) Living in AK,it costs a small fortune to buy name brand trans,& get it shipped.. When I went with the BD VB, I can feel it keep the TC locked to about 15 mph. It isn't acting like an exhaust brake by any means, it's just one of those things you notice. I haven't installed a exhaust brake yet and since I only drive my truck in the winter, not sure if I will. Good luck with your upgrade.

Early trannys didn't have the thrust washer which comes into play when you have the "reverse torque " hitting the trans when the brake is on.It is important to have a shift kit or done up valve body as it helps with higher pressure and keeps the torque converter locked up. I used all BD electronics and brake. All works good
