Is the VW available in the U.S. yet???

H1 may be getting some competition

I own both a 98. 5 24 valve and a 04 PSD and i got to tell ya i love this ford. This truck pulls like a monster and i have not done a thing to it,at least not yet. I dont care what anyone says all trucks have there problems in production and i belive that ford has got a handel on it now. I am not knocking the cummins bye no means,i love that truck. But until you drive one of these new 04's you can not judge it. :D

HMMmmm - comparing a '98 Dodge with '04 Ford - now THERE'S a fair comprison...

What do ya suppose the result might been if that comparison wuz reversed - a '98 Ford vs a '04 Dodge? ;)

Ever hear the term "apples/oranges"...

You seem to have a unique way of asserting that fact...

We'll wait a few months to see how the Ford pans out for you - hope it exceeds your expectations - many don't... ;)

If you think about it, the blue oval guys at the home office wouldn't design a truck that wasn't better than the one it was replacing. Business wise, it makes sense. When the finished product matches the blueprint, life is good and the company doesn't have to buy back trucks. I wish no ill fortune on anyone who buys a diesel truck. Both Cummins and Ford have brought out a new engine in the last couple of years, and the forums in both home camps tell the story.

Since this is this fellas second similar post, it's pretty obvious he is a plant from the Ford group out for a troll - er, STROLL... ;)

That's OK, the guys here can easily see thru BS and obvious pot-stirring we are FAR better informed as to strengths and weakness of other brands as well as our own - and DON'T feel intimidated or threatend by trolls here primarily to aggravate or annoy - you won't get thrown off - but you MIGHT get LAUGHED off! :) :)

You wanna keep this stuff up? HAVE AT IT!

We can all use the laughs... ;)

It is not even worth a comment. Think I will go take a dump now.

My brother recently towed an enclosed 16x8 with his companys new shop truck an 04 PSD Excursion. All he could say was what a turd! Without a trailer the truck was fine, but it was flatfooted most of his trip on the interstate and any hill to maintain 65-70 with one motorcyle in the trailer. Also the PSD couldnt hold OD on hills it kept kicking into drive, and revving well over 3000RPM. he said it felt like he was driving a small block gasser, not a diesel. The truck only had 1000 miles on it but how much better can it get.

YUP - lotsa "rave reviews" as to the Ford excellence... Here's one from the Ford site...

Back To The Dealership..... Grrrr.....

Well it looks like me and my 03 F-250 CC are back to the dealer this Saturday. The truck had went in for a rear main seal leak, rough idle, bad throttle response, and several other issues.

After the flash and rear main seal replacement the truck seemed to act ok, but Now the truck is doing the reveing up again. Since the flash, when the truck first fires the engine revs up to what i consider to be high, 1000 to 1250 rpm. I also have noticed a popping nnoise in the front end when making a real sharp turn. SOund like a Bad u-joint, or a hub catching.

Also they checked my truck for being hard to start. SInce the flash my truck seems to be getting worse to start. When i go to start the truck, after the wait to start indicator goes off, and 10 to 20 seconds after that i try to start it. AND this thing won't fire! if you cycle the engine again it take a couple seconds but then it finally fires up.

IS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING ANY OF THESE ISSUE's??????

Makes ya wanna run right out and BUY one of those "pulling monsters" doesn't it! ;)

There's LOTS of this stuff over in that group, much FAR worse - I'll be glad to to supply as many as our resident troll wants to read... :p :p

Turd

I tow a 10,000lbs trailer every night for work. This truck is awesome,I dont know if your familiar with the tampa bay area of florida but I pull the Skyway bridge every other night with this Turd!!This bridge is a 45 degree incline for about 1 mile straight up. I set my cruise on 72 mph with my load on and the truck never downshifts. I say the proof is in the towing,I do alot of towing and i am giving you facts not hear say. My dodge will do the same, but my dodge is also bombed, and the ford is stock. :D

This is there 3rd 6. 0 PSD,and none of them were great towers, although the first 2 were early ones, this one is a Turd in his own words. All of them run great with no trailer. Its getting a box as soon as it gets back. The box is in the back seat of my truck,it needs it badly.

Maybe my math is bad but a 45° incline for a mile would net you an elevation gain of 2600 feet and some scratch. I've never been to Florida but wouldn't that make you like the highest point in the state?

We have some issue with facts, the skyway bridge is 193 feet above the water at its highest point and spans a distance of 1200 feet. Here's a picture doesn't look like a 45 degree angle to me or a mile long for that matter. There may not be a troll under the bridge but we do have one here!!!!:D

hmmm, seems to me that somebody is just trying to stir us up, like we do the Ford guys. "The Cleaner" has a similar post started in the Towing, Hauling and RV Forum. Too bad that a PSD doesn't get us stirred up. Lets post this same type of thing at the Ford site and see how fast we get banned.

Whatever!! I was not going to calculate it ,but was just trying to make a comparisin of both trucks. I am not a troll but a buisness owner with several different trucks. Just trying to shed light on the PSD which in my opinion is a great truck. Again i love my dodge and would not trade it for anything but i am also open minded about thier troubles in the begining of the 6. 0 production. There is no diesel out there that did not have any trouble when it first came out . I can do a search too and pull up plenty of complaint's on the cummins.

I guess all the ambulances and town trucks and tow trucks and emergency vehicles across america are also trolls! Check out how many diesels on the road are fords versus chevy and dodge. The new 6. 0 powerstroke after the bugs were worked out is the superior truck period!!
