I guess all the ambulances and town trucks and tow trucks and emergency vehicles across america are also trolls! Check out how many diesels on the road are fords versus chevy and dodge. The new 6. 0 powerstroke after the bugs were worked out is the superior truck period!!

No they are not trolls, they're not here saying their truck is better they are just driving them. Ford was the number one selling truck prior to the introduction of the PowerStroke and will probably continue that way because they offer huge discounted prices to municipalities to use them as police cars and ambulances and fire trucks and also have excellent fleet programs for private industry. It's called playing the game, get your vehicles out there regardless of profit so you can claim #1 seller, then maybe next year you'll be able to convert a person into buying your product just because everyone else bought one just like they did with you. Stop back and tell us what you think after a couple years, then it might mean something, right now though you're just TROLLING

"I tow a 10,000lbs trailer every night for work... This bridge is a 45 degree incline for about 1 mile straight up. "

Wonder if his trailer has a drag chute like the trailer in the Ford TV advertisement, for stopping, to help when he comes in in the morning and the 45* mile long bridge route is downhill!!!!!!!!!!!

troll or no troll that 6. 0L (i dont think you are a troll but i am going to flame ya anyway) is fast and at the same time it is a POS. now you ask how can this be and i say this why dont race engines last that long and i say b/c they dont have to. if you want to buy a POS engine go ahead just dont come on this board and compare it to a medium duty cummins diesel. no matter what ford ever does to that over revved POS it will never meet medium duty specs. so to compare your engine that happens to use diesel and my real diesel engine is absurd. i have a d-3 cat dozer that i want you to hook up to on a regular basis and lets see how rinytintin holds up. that SOB would have to stay around 3000K to keep it moving. sorry to flame ya but i am tired of hearing people say how fast the new ford is. what i just told you is the truth. the quote of the day

"the 7. 3 was not a great engine until the 6L came out"

and if i am overstretching the turth here someone correct me i can take it. is the 6L a better engine than the cummins b/c he chose the 6L over the 5. 9. now if your saying you picked the ford truck over the dodge truck then i would say yea i agree with you. even though i love my dodge truck and think they are workhorses. i would just like to have some more room. but as far a engines go (and i am being honest) you got yourself one 40K POS. that back seat if going to be real comfortable when you are on the side of the interstate. i will shut up now. oh yea apples to oranges. and snowracer where have you been hidding those all of this time ROFLMAO :) oh yea i hope i am wrong i hope the 6l is ironclad i dont want to see the big three slid any further but Ford is going in the wrong direction with thier diesel engine and loosing many customers to who would have ever thunk it dodge. yea i know you went the other way but you will be back.

Alright guys, enough. The Cleaner has been on the site since July of 2000 and has ~70 posts - he isn't a plant. A number of inappropriate posts have been deleted from this thread. The last thing we want to see is the site degrade into what I saw on this thread. A couple of the posters on this thread have expired subscriptions and were riding on the grace period - they have been turned off.

I've commented on this board MANY times that I've owned MANY Fords in the past - with no regrets! I have nothing against the newest ones either - very comparable in overall body/interior quality - plus more body style options - the engine, when running properly is capable of excellent power. It's weakness is the fact that it is near the maximum power potential as it rolls out the door if long-term durability is important to a buyer, as compared to the Cummins, which still has LOTS of available power upgrades while still delivering a long lifespan.

NOW, all THAT said, I, like many others here, have NO PROBLEM with a member buying a Ford, and coming to THIS group to report his experience in a decent and courteous manner - or to gripe about problems with his DC truck, if he is really interested in getting help, and not simply trying to stir the pot to see people scramble - if yer gonna toss rocks or make excessively aggressive statements, common sense tells ya yer gonna get the same in return...

IF this guy came here, and said he was a current/former Dodge owner, and now also owns a Ford - and has been pleasantly surprised at it's quality and performance, I'm sure many here would respond with guarded but courteous congratulations - most of us might PREFER Dodges, but that doesn't mean we HATE Fords!

But someone posting headers that scream "FORD RULES", or "Power Strokes are KING", is OBVIOUSLY someone NOT looking for compliments, but TROUBLE!

So don't feel abused or GRIPE when you GET what you came here LOOKING for! :p

Like yer Ford? GREAT, I'm happy for you - but for every GOOD story about the later Fords, I can find a horror story - I hope you don't end up with one yourself - and it never pays to brag too long or loud - things have a way of coming back to haunt you when you least expect them - I like my Dodge - has given me near perfect service to date - and could burn to the ground tomorrow! ;)

Change the tone of your posts, and be welcome - keep being a deliberate pain, and you'll be just as welcome HERE as one of OUR obnoxious or abusive members would be in the Ford groups... .

Your choice! ;)

I found this trend to be really funny. I too don't hate fords or chevys. I own a '98 Mustang GT and a '86 Corvette. I will say though i like the Corvette better than the stang. However, if ford was to GIVE me one of their trucks with a 6. 0 I would take it, then i would go and trade for the dodge or remove the 6. 0 and have a CTD installed. Oh, I pulled a bridge the other day with the horse trailer with 4 horses. Heck, that bridge must have been at least a 90 degree angle and 1/2 mile across. Had to stop and strap the horses in so they wouldn,t fall out of the back:-laf. Just kidding.

:-laf Right.

I sincerely hope your 6. 0 performs as you indicate, and I wish you the best of luck with it. To each his own!:)

Steve obviously appreciated them... ;) :)

I DID drive the 04 Ford, and the Chevy. My findings are in the current issue of TDR. Not everyone deserves a Dodge, so Fords happen.

are you lost?

i work on both the dodge and the ford pickups,to be fair i like the ford cab better,BUT as soon as i open the hood on the ford diesel i start complaining, its just so much more to work around. I wouldnt have one if you gave it to me free! Most every one i have driven does nothing for me,all i have to do is drive my dodge and a smile starts on my face,as this is a dodge site i think most reading this will agree that its better to be driving old dodge than a new ford!Enjoy your ford!

This is hilarious...

Are you kidding me... Just remember when your truck is going down the highway and you hear a loud clap and slam just let this flow threw your head " i should have bought a real diesel truck... Not a worthless V-8 terd waste of iron diesel... "

LMAO...  :D  :-{}

Dam, I missed another good one? Don. :D

hmmm what about Mustangs?

I can never find a Ford truck to race, but do BLOW THE DOORS OFF most Mustangs I run... man they HATE it!:-laf

well, i skipped much of this thread--promise I'll come back and read some more later... ;)

6.0 go or no go

OK Guys I'm sure you remember all the bench racing you did in high school. Back then it was a deserted country road and the two of you would race for bragging rights. Well things have changed. Since these trucks aren't exactly drag specials then what's the next best thing

DYNO RUN!!!!!

Seat of the pants and real numbers are two different things. Dynos don't lie...

Sometimes the truth hurts

Anyone know what a stock 6. 0 puts out compared to a stock 5. 9?

Oo. Oo.

Jay

You have to like the bravery of someone from FL jumping in with both feet on how the truck pulls the hills.

The highest point in Fl is less than 350 ASL. Wow!

I'll have to remember than one when I have to down shift on the 12% grade I go up on the way to work (bad turn in it requires the downshift).

Ford does rule in one area ...

... in the variety of configurations. Real crew-cabs, in single or DRW's. And the offering versions above their 1-ton. Even GM has 4500/5500 out. Dodge always seems to be a day late and a dollar short on these issues.

I dread the thought of purchasing a 6. 0, but if Dodge doesn't care to offer people any more choises then are offered today, then it looks like I will be going Ford in 2006 with a 550 crew-cab 3-4 yrd. dump.

Ford will eventually work out the 6. 0 problems (maybe with the rumored 6. 4L), there is too much at stake for Ford to continue with these problems.

And don't forget, while we play the Big Three bragging games ... Toyota, Nissian, and other Players are lurking around the corner ready to step in when problems, like the 6. 0 is having, become more pronounced and can capitalize on their image of quality they have already established.

And Nissian makes a pretty good straight 6 in their UD line of trucks.

Just think of a line of 13,000 to 20,000 GVW Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissian crew cab trucks to meet the needs of contracters, manicipalities, and landscapers ... the Big Three would be soiling their pants big time.

"Anyone know what a stock 6. 0 puts out compared to a stock 5. 9?"

Typically, LESS... ;)

It will depend on which of the Cummins selected - the '04. 5 600 certainly should take the prize - and I agree - give us a dyno sheet - actual numbers TALK, BS walks... ;) :p

FATCAT is right, Ford offers a wide range of choices re gvw & cab & chassis. I love my truck but could really use more capacity. Would have purchased a Ford if it had an engine. Dodge seem to be willing to sit in the ditch & watch the world go by instead of offering more choices.
