Here I am

Ford Rules!!

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Is the VW available in the U.S. yet???

H1 may be getting some competition

One of the sharper tow vehicles *I* have spotted out on the road, was a 4-door Ford *550* with a standard pickup box - all I'd seen before were cab/chassis rigged for towtrucks and such...

Shame to put a 6. 0 in such a FINE shell... ;)

Typically, LESS... ;)

It will depend on which of the Cummins selected - the '04. 5 600 certainly should take the prize - and I agree - give us a dyno sheet - actual numbers TALK, BS walks... ;) :p

I always thought is was torque that won the towing race.

I love going to our local Dyno Days with the local Ford owners club. Nice trucks, real nice people.

Cummins torque generally = HPx2 (300hp 600tq)

PSD torque generally = HPx1. 5 (300hp 450tq)

Amazing! the Eisenhower tunnel also is near 45 degrees, it gains 142' of elevation heading west.

Based upon this coicidence, we can assume that Ford owns Cummins, and the Powerstroke is the superior engine of the two. This little known fact was stated recently by Longtime Ford engineer and inventor of the internet Al Gore (aka the "CLEANER"), while signing buy-back checks to a raucus group of Ford 6. 0L supporters. Who could be heard chanting "Gore in an 04" as many wished to see him personally drive their truck off a cliff, proving once and for all, which vehicle really is "Like a rock".

MMMM beer

That was great. That was just the laugh I needed before starting a tough day of work.

:D :D :D

OK, I have tried to be quiet so far. But this is unreal. I can't believe people are actually defending this guy for being bashed. I fully understand he has been a member here for a while and has never trolled before, but there is a time and a place for everything. The better pace for this would have been on a ford site like TDS. What could you have possibly expected? If I were to go to TDS and put a post CUMMINS RULE, three things would happen. I would first be bashed and treated ignorantly(much worse than I have seen here), second the thread would be locked and removed, third I would be banned. So I am hard pressed to feel sorry for him

Maybe you misread the original question, AND my response... .

The question was:

"Anyone know what a stock 6. 0 puts out compared to a stock 5. 9?"

My reply was:

"Typically, LESS... " - as in, the Ford TYPICALLY puts out LESS power than the Dodge... ;)

"Anyone know what a stock 6. 0 puts out compared to a stock 5. 9?"

Who the heck CARES what a stock engine develops. I DROVE a stock one two days ago (235/460)----IT WAS AWFUL!!!

My how Cummins has spoiled me. I'm close to 450/1000 --next dyno March 20. And the putt-putt is doing mid 300's/mid 700's.

I agree will lmills... Why the hell would someone come here and start a FORD RULES! post... it doesnt matter how long youve been here, you should post something like this... This is worse than ANY of my posts... Well maybe 1 of mine was worse than this :). Just remember Even though that 6. 0 may run now it will die anyday now. . :)

been to Fla. Tampa area

If there is a spot in Tampa Fla. thats 2600 feet then i missed something while in college on the baseball trips:rolleyes: ...

I have to say that Fla. is flat i don't think i ever even got near a so called hill or high spot in the state. Maybe the 6. 0 does do better at sea level/ high humidity/so called bumps or hills. . But i figure also that the diesel's down there are probably set up from the dealer to compensate for the difference in altitude(i could be wrong) but bring one up here to Va. where im at roughly 4400-4600 feet ( i live 15 min from the highest point in Va. ) and im sure there would be a considerable difference of course this is my unbiased opinion.

Anyways to all diesel owners keep'em rollingOo.

His last post before this one was almost a year ago and about the Ford V-10 he just bought because he didn't trust the 6. 0 with all the problems they were having.

See here

He never came back and said how great his V-10 was but I'm guessing that now, 11 months later he doesn't have it anymore. Probably won't hear from him when he gets rid of the 6. 0 either. Look back through his various posts, regardless of what his supporters say he is trolling and has in the past. I wouldn't doubt it if there is a post on some other web site directing people to look at this thread. This is my home (the TDR) a place where I come for information and comradorie not to be irritated by someone who bought a Ford. To each his own and if you bought a great truck, great, I wish you the best of luck but don't come around acting like the tards on the other sites. If you want to do that go to those sites and do it and leave my TDR alone.

Appears he's gone - I suspect a little bird suggested he lay low and avoid further posts on this subject = perhaps we should do the same... ;)

Yeah this is a dodge web site (or should I say cummins web site!) Granted, I've only been a member for a couple of months now but this is the general diesel topics forum. I'd say that opens up discussion to other diesels also. But for a person to open a discussion titled "Ford rules!!" on a Dodge site , that person is just asking for it. I don't see any harm in flaming someone with a post like that. They're asking for it anyway.

My . 02 on Fords. They would have a pretty darn good truck if they would put a cummins and a NV5600, instead of a knee knocking 6spd and whatever that mild suggestion of a diesel under the hood thing is. Oh yeah, and more leaf springs or something, those things look sick compared to dodges when loaded heavy. One more thing, if they could change the body to closer match the new dodge... ..... oh forget it! I'm staying with dodge. Man I'd like to have one of those 600's with an edge box!

why not compare a new 600 HO to the 6. 0 instead of a 6yr old Cummins?

I don't doubt that your Powerstroke pulls well... I do doubt that it would pull for as many miles as a Cummins will... and I also doubt that it'll consume fuel as slowly as the Cummins.

I'm glad you like your Ford... I love the Ford 250-750's, but I wouldn't buy a Powerstroke with my worst enemy's money... it's an inferior engine to the Cummins. period.

the straight 6 is a superior design for torque production, strength (huge crank, one rod per throw, naturally balanced), fuel consumption, engine life (huge bearing journals). and the Cummins 5. 9 has proven itself time and time again as being able to hold more power than the Navistars... stock Cummins bottom end will hold 1,000+hp... you find me a Navistar that'll hold that, and I'll kiss your ass.

never mind the fact that performance parts for a Cummins are a lot cheaper and the engines are much easier to work on... (I've never seen twins or a 5" downpipe on a Powerstroke...  )

FWIW, I'm a pretty die-hard Ford guy... of the 30 or so vehicles I've owned in my life, only four of them have been non-Ford... when I first got interested in turbo diesels, I was looking at getting a Powerstroke... after talking with friends who had owned both and after searching the net for info, I quickly realized that I was gonna have to buy a Dodge to get the truck I wanted...

my next project is a Cummins powered late 80's/early 90's Ford Crew Cab...

love Fords

HATE Powerstrokes! :D
