well i am sure this has been asked 50 time but what kind of high horse power injectors are there for the gen 1 trucks ? i tried a search but that thing is so worthless latley#@$%!#@$%! everything i try to search comes up search term to short i cant get any useful information from it without making it so general that i end with 50,000 pages of worthless crap! any way thanks for the help o buy the way i have the ve style pump :)

DDP Stage 4 or a set from Buddha Power will flow enough fuel for high horsepower. You could have a custom set of EDM's or extrude honed injectors made. Don't forget, you'll need the air to compensate these absurd amounts of fuel flow. ;)

Aloha,

Matt

are you running these either one of these injectors ? and how much horsepower wil they make?

No, those are too much injector for me. :-laf Got a set of Bosch 190's. The aforementioned sticks will put out well over 500 ponies and over 1000 ft. lbs. of torque with twins. I've got a lead foot and that kind of numbers will put me off the edge of the island. ;)

Took me a second to get that.

SAndreasen, what is your definition of "high horsepower", and what do you want to do with your truck?

i would like to hit the 400 hp level without changing the pump is that atainable? i had my 95 turned up to 460hp at the rear wheels the guy i sold it to pulls with a lot . i use the truck to haul between 15,000 and 30,000 gvw. the same as with my 01

400hp "without changing the pump"?

i am pretty sure you are gonna have to tweak on the ve pump pretty hard, install big inj, and a different turbo

mine hauls 20k# pretty good with around 325 hp, but i too would like 400+

400hp can be done with a 14mm rotor, big injectors (and a BIIGG fuel filter:-laf), and the air flow improvements to accompany it.

Define "changing" if you would please. The VE will make 400HP without major mods, for a little while. Without doing some major pump mods, ie scattering the pieces on a bench and much drilling and grinding, it will eat itself up pretty fast at those levels. :)

thats what i need to find out

did henry pier have the pump off this truck and do it in his shop or did he just adj it on the truck. i can see by the paint line it has been turned about 3/16" but that is all i know for sure. who is the best of the best when it comes to internal pump mods? do they have a flow bench so i get can some numbers? i heard someone say theirs flowed 160 cm (did they mean cc's?) and that this was about twice as much as stock.

my silver truck has 300hp and 600 ft lbs but i want to go a little higher with my 92 because it wont be hauling that much commercialy buy changing the pump i mean changing it to the p pump

i think he means putting a 14cm housing on your existing turbo

that is what i have

no waste gate

30 psi right now

ok i get it . i was actaully planning on putting the turbo off my 01 on the 92 when i buy a new turbo for 01. is this a good idea? thanks for all the replies

talking fuel not air

The 14mm head for the VE is a bigger diameter plunger/head that pushes more fuel than the smaller stock plunger (12mm? you experts?) for each injection cycle. It is not a trivial mod from what I have been able to glean from the posts. Last I have seen this is still somewhat in the R&D area of high VE HP.

bgilbert, stomp, kta and others in high VE HP areas are the ones with the experience with them. I wish I did, but must play in a smaller sandlot. ;)

For those with POD's, what is a reasonable upper HP range for them with "stock but tweaked" VE? I am under 300/650 but expect I could go higher with more air. How high before I need DD4s or EDMs?

Ken

my truck came with a dyno sheet - 325 hp

pod, 14cm no gate, banks intercooler, and henry did the pump

glad to know there is a bigger head for the ve

thanks
