Hey folks,
The 518 in my 91. 5 W250 exploded on me on my way to work a few weeks ago.
I bought a 89 W350 Dually with the Getrag and I'm going to swap the parts over for the 5 speed.
The truck runs and shifts great. No grinding, no popping out of gear.
However, when I swap the transmission over, I want to make sure I do 'the little things' right.
I've heard about swapping the bushing for a bearing, but not sure how involved and costly that is vs. just getting a new bushing.
Should I replace the TOB, even if I use the used clutch?
Any seals that I should just replace and get it over with?
I'm thinking, since the rest of the truck is full of Amsoil, that I'll run Amsoil 5w30 in it, and fill it a quart over. Good idea?
Thanks! Any advice I can get would be very helpful.
