I have finally made a decision and after 16 years, 350,000 miles, a lot of ups and a few downs, so many good times and a lot of cash over the years my Ol' girl is leaving well actually being pushed out and being replaced by a young new hottie. The 01 just doesn't do it for me anymore to many age lines are showing and she wants a bunch of cash to keep going at least in the style that I have been accustomed to over the years and it just isn't going to happen so out she goes. I will miss her for sure but it is time to move on to a younger ol' girl. Time to get on with life, out with the old and in with the new.

The 01 2500 just needs a lot of work/money to get her back up to par needs paint badly, a new door from rust, new carpet, new windshield, new dash, new this, new that, exhaust brake and I sat down and figured it out and it just doesn't make sense to me to put that much money into a vehicle that old with that many miles and while it tows our trailer ok it is definitely on the edge of capacity ( particularly in the mountains here), technically it is over GVWR by about 1800lbs. While she does handle the weight pretty well I do need to put on an exhaust brake with our heavier trailer now the quad cab does not work as well with grand children these days etc etc What the heck I work hard for my money as many do and I can do what I want with it right. Cant believe I am having guilt about getting rid of a vehicle but what a vehicle it has been and will continue to be I am sure.

She is going to stay part of the family, my Brother in Law is going to take her in and give her a decent home but she will be relegated to strictly chores so as long as she runs he will be happy with her he could care less about the beauty of the beast for his needs.

Tomorrow I pick up my new 2017 3500 Bighorn and the new relationship starts. I have not even seen her yet except for some stock photos. I hope she turns out to be as good as the last one but if not well I guess a love lost is not as bad as a love never had or however that saying goes.

In 2010 I felt that way when my Brother bought my 04.5 2500, but at least we get to visit once in awhile. :D

Congrats on your new truck and posts some pictures.
