so I'm coming home down Arapaho Rd. in Richardson, TX, and a guy in a 66-67ish vette convertable zips past me... he leaves every light really hard and is really pushing it through all the curves between Floyd and Westshore... enough that the rear started to drift a little at one point. good times right? fair enough...
so we end up getting stopped at Westshore. I'm in the left lane and he's right next to me... I figure he's gonna take off from this light the same way he's taken off from every one. I have no idea if I'll even be able to get out on him so I tried to inch forward as much as possible without attracting attention.
I'm watching the cross traffic light out of the corner of my eye watching for the yellow...
I had it in 2nd, and let the clutch out when the cross light went red. the truck inched out and the light went green, and I just rugged it. didn't wind it out too hard, got into third and wound it out to ~3400
checked the mirrors as I eased into 4th, and all I saw was black smoke! LMAO!!! just plain covered the road... then there he was just behind me to the right, and then he turned into a parking lot.
I have no idea if he tried to accelerate through the smoke and couldn't pass me or if he got out of it once the smoke show started and then accelerated up on the right, but I have this funny little feeling that he tried to accelerate through it and couldn't (at least that's what I'd like to think!) the car didn't sound like it was all that... probably just a mild 350... not to take away from the car or anything, it was a nice looking car. I wasn't a big fan of the wheels, but still definately a cool ride.
in 2. 5 months of owning the truck, that's the first time I've just outrightly smoked someone like that... I don't make a habit of it. I mean I'll give somebody a little cloud on the highway if they're hogging the left lane or if they're riding too close, but for some reason the little devil on my right shoulder was yelling louder than the little angel on my left!
