The Night before Christmas

Like "rolling coal" ??

well I got one today, some may not think it was right but I do.

Drove up to Franklin, KY today to get fuel ($1. 43 vs. $1. 69:eek: ) well on the way back I was just driving down the hwy when this IDIOT out mowing his front lawn with a push more comes up to the edge of the road, turns around and backs nearly all the way out to the middle of my lane as I'm only maybe 75 yards away doing 60mph. #@$%!

So as I see this I hit the brakes while saying "what a FREAK'N moron" to my buddy in the passenger seat..... then it dawned on me so the shifter went to neutral and I costed down to about 50mph or so maybe 45 then back to 5th it went and I summoned the smoke machine!:D

Genious was still right by the edge of the road by the time I went by... . couldn't see him after I went by though :-laf

I think that was the PERFECT thing to do :D

What I really enjoy are the skaters on the sidewalks... now, I'm not one to argue about what a person wears, or who they try to act like, but jeez, these kids live in a town of less then 30k people... they're about as far from skater/homie-g thug as it gets! So, anytime there just happens to be a couple walking down the sidewalk the Comp comes on to 5x5 and the feet go to the floor... love the look on their faces and the fingers in the air once the smoke clears... I mean, I know I'm number 1 and all, but I never knew that other people thought I was too... Good times! :D

It was an accident...I swear.

I live in a small town, where people actually stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, well most of the time. Having said that, I was driving down Main St. last evening, behind a couple of slower moving vehicles. I switched to the inside lane and as I approached an intersection the lead vehicle, an older flatbed truck, he began to slow and then stop. I also slowed, thinking he had stopped for the crosswalk; however, I couldn't see anybody waiting to cross. As I proceeded through the intersection this older guy is starting to cross on my right. At this point I cannot stop, so I nail it to get out of his way. Unfortunately I was in 3rd gear and only going about 15 mph when I hit it. I didn't want to look in the rear view mirror, because I knew what I had just done. When I did look, all I saw was the obvious... a thick black cloud.

Seriously, I felt bad for this poor guy. :(

Well I didnt get to smoke anyone or anything, but I had fun nonetheless. I was on my way home from work last night with the trailer fully loaded (approx. 20,000 lbs) and was riding behind these two dump trailers who happen to live by me, so we decided to just run together the 35 miles home (we were talkin on the CB). And seeing as how it was rush hour we werent going very fast to begin with. Anyway we are sitting at this light when we come up on the broke down four wheeler that caused the traffic jam and the rigs went to the left and I went to the right of the car and I ended up beside them for a few min. One of the truck drivers tells me the stacks are looking good. (The trucks that run for this company are the ones that got me hooked on stacks and MADE ME PUT THEM ON :D  ) so I decided to put on a little smoke show for them so at about 15mph I put it in third and put the hammer to it to throw a little soot. The guy comes on the radio and says well aint that a cute little smoke show. and says now watch a real smoke show, and man I mean to tell you he cleared the traffic behind us. . LOL. . PURE BLACK. While I dont like being out done it was cool just the same.

Did it happen to be a old Mack? The old R models I've seen can really pour it out. :D

Nope this was a fairly new Pete like a year or two old. He had 8" straight stacks. He admitted she was REALLY turned up. I dont know what he did but the next time I catch him hopefully up at the fuel station we all fuel at in the morning I will ask him to let me under the hood.

I didnt know you can turn up the 3406E/C-15/ C-16 motors... . Get some pics! I would really like to see that rig with 8" stacks outdoing us! That is just awesome!

--Now, The rest of the story--

Last weekend I was heading home from Sulphur springs, and had a smooth trip all the way till I got to Austin... Just north of Austin, in Georgetown, the traffic came to a standstill, and the only lane open was the left lane, which I run in anyway... I knew it was going to happen, but didnt know who was going to be the victim... 2 punks on crotch rockets were too impatient to wait like the rest of us, so they were riding the shoulder. . Well, they were till they got to my back bumper... I did a 3rd gear start, and was smoke braking them at about 15 mph... LOTS OF SMOKE!!! oh, the humanity! hehehe, anyways, this went on for about a ¼ mile, and everyone was giving me thumbs up for getting them back! All the truck drivers were on the radio saying how they had never seen a CTD hopped up that much, and all I said back was "Wait till she gets some injectors! then the smoke will roll!":D As traffic started moving again, the idiots on the motorcycles almost killed themselves trying to weave in and out of cars, but I temporarily put a stop to their little maniac driving spree!

My ex-wifes grandparents lived in Sulphur Springs, so i been there a time or two. Nice people cute town BUT NOT A DAMN DROP OF ALCOHOL. Had to drive 65 miles east to find a liquor store so I could just buy some beer. (Very much needed to put up with her family)then drove back and damn near got thrown in jail for tranporting alcohol into a dry county... I havent been back there since. Obviously got rid of the B**CH too... LOL...

Sorry I know of the subject but had to share cause it was easter weekend then and its easter now too. . LOL

HAVE A GOOD EASTER EVERYONE. .

Charlan - In some states it is legal for motorcycles to ride between lanes of traffic in the case of traffic jams. I read that it was legal to do so in the TN. state motorcycle drivers license manual. However, its not usually a good thing to do, cause probably most people in cars don't know motorcycle riding laws and resent them doing so (like you).

I can understand why coming to a traffic jam someone might pull over into the lane that's ending and block off those vehicles that cheat all the way to the front. Actually I like it when the big rigs do that. The 2 things I can't understand is 1) why you'd bother to hold up the cycles and 2) why anyone would hold up cars that duck off to the right shoulder to take an exit ramp that is within sight. The reasons I don't understand it is those cycles going between lanes do not hold things up, and those cars going onto the right shoulder to drive up to a visible (or even a non-visible) exit ramp don't hold things up either. Actually letting them go to the exit ramp, speeds things up a tad from the point where they pulled out of traffic anyway.

My point is, just to let you know that those "punks" may not have been doing anything illegal, but most people are not aware of motorcycle riding laws. In your state (TX?), it may not be legal. I wouldn't know. BTW, I don't consider those guys punks. I think they're rather smart. Less than 10 G's for something that will run 10's in the quarter mile @ 120+ mph is a lot of fun. This coming from a retired motorcycle roadracer (WERA #701).

Driving home last week down 240 in OKC minding my own business when I look up and there is a highway patrol coming up with his lights on in the fast lane so I jam it to get in front of a few folks and get out of his way..... but I look back to see the smoke rolling over his car... ... . SORRY:p

Boy I had some good laughs reading this today.

So this is my story.

I have nothing against bicycles but.

One day I pulled up to a red light. There was about 6 or so bikes at the red light, a car behind them then me. The light turned green and these idiots 3 abreast riding in the only westbound lane. The car in front of me had to go into the oncoming lane to get around them. There going like 20 mph and now its my turn. Well I had to take the oncoming lane also. And we all know you should get back in your lane asap for safety sake. I shifted to third hammer down from 1500 to 3400 rpm. The timing was purfect. I looked in the rear view and could not see them thru the smoke. hey its there fault. They would not move over. They made me get in a dangerous situation (could have had a head on) So I needed to move fast.

I use to hate that when I'd come up behind groups on my bike let alone a vehicle. There is absolutely no reason for bicyclist to do that. The roads were primarily built for vehicle traffic not bikes. Maybe next time you ought to get up on the pack and lay on your horn :D . They might get the idea that way.

Some knuckle head did it this morning, I'm in the fast lane going 68 in a 60 and he's on my butt (in a BMW) at 6:45 am so I turn OFF the valet switch, and say..... excuse me let me power up and move out of you way (on the floor) and roll smoke over his car but still able to see his lights. Real soon I'm going to cover them up!

Smoked a Stroke this weekend

Was northbound on 540 south of Springdale Ark, Sunday. Going uphill, I was slowly catching up to a Ext cab powerstroke pulling a horse trailer with two horses. When I pulled over in the passing lane, he looked in his mirror and saw us. I saw a big puff of smoke from his exhaust and I quit gaining on him. As I had been playing with the comp, and was 'powered up' I stepped it up and slid right past him. He wouldn't even LOOK at me but I could see a grim looking face as I went by! I had my Jeep on the trailer at the time! Maybe not a smoke story but my first since bombing the truck.

My wife just shook her head and said, "Boys!"

But later went thru a tunnel and with the windows open I laid on it and the 4" straight exhaust just ROARED!!! I looked at her and she said it sounded awesome. Have I got a great wife or what? Take care. .

Here in St. Louis, we have roadside emission spot checks, usually at onramps where you can't see them until you are already past turning off. They scan your license plate and sniff your tailpipe as you drive past and then mail your emissions certificate with a bill (assuming you passed) a few days later. Otherwise, you have to go to a stationary test facility for a formal test. Anyway, diesels are exempt from emissions inspection, at least for now.

Problem is, I've driven through these inspection "traps" on several occasions and have had the overwhelming urge to "do what a diesel's gotta do" and let them have it right in the sniffer. :--)

OK, I know that no good would come of it and I won't do it, but I just wonder what the test would show. Pray for me brothers, lest I fall to temptation. ;)
